Today Bibi participated with friends and fellow community members in peaceful protest. It was sticky hot, hundreds gathered, voices spoke out. With encouragement and support, the start of a lifetime of speaking up for what's right was born. ✊🏾✊🏽✊🏻 #enoughisenough#nojusticenopeace#proudmama
She doesn’t even look that good!🤔
Isn’t it hilarious how we pick pictures apart?? Pictures of people we don’t even know... and those we do! We’ve been trained to be so ugly and so judgmental towards someone and their journey regardless of how much we even know about the hard work they’ve put in!
My challenge to you: let’s learn how to encourage each other, motivate each other and team up in order to become the best version of ourselves!
Let’s learn not to compete but instead unite! 💯

I’m stronger than you think
It’s been five days since my last drink
Said I won’t touch the stuff
Enough is enough
Go on a little walk
So I can hear myself talk
See the clouds up ahead
Think of my friend Fred
Sent him a text
Wonderin’ what’s next
Seems a strange little rhyme
Come back to it every time
Life starts lookin’ good
Then I’m back where I stood
Passin’ the bar
Inside or to the car?
There’s a delivery in the rear
For this I do fear
I’m stronger than you think
This here’s my last drink 🍸 —Sarah Bloom
So proud of my little town today! They showed up and supported the #BLM movement. It was peaceful and purposeful. The cops were part of making this happen. It was a wonderful learning experience for me and for our kids and honestly I think we could learn a lot if not more from listening to the kids. I loved hearing their input and perspective. You can #backtheblue and be part of the movement. You can care about all life and be a good human, but I do believe it starts at home. #FreeburgProud#blacklivesmatter ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 #backtheblue#raisethemright#smalltownUSA

Later today and throughout the weekend I will join peaceful marches in our local, rural community in upstate New York’s Sullivan County. This is my sign - and as a BLACK daughter of the RURAL SOUTH I will hold it up high, tightly and proudly this weekend - and will carry with me hopes of a better, more equal, more just way ahead - every step of the way. #YoursRurally

Businesses on the main strip in downtown North Bend boarded up before a scheduled gathering to stand in solidarity with #blacklivesmatter tomorrow (Saturday). The event was organized by a local high school student with the consent of businesses and police. Even though it's a small town (7K), tensions are high and I was confronted while I took photos by a man who put the boards up. Once he cooled down, he expressed concern about people who would be attracted by the event and would cause damage. He was also convinced that he saw and took photos of people that were looking for trouble, and he was intending to provide photos to police. He said he got my attention so he could take my photo from two angles. EDIT: thanks to @kathleeenking for pointing out that the building owner required some businesses to board up. @compassoutdooradventures wanted to remain open, but could not.
I am so proud of our community, our country, tonight. Although I was unable to attend any of these peaceful marches~driving my momma home from Florida~my heart is full from the love, caring and passion our community has shown for black and brown lives. I am especially heartened by the young people who came out to show their support and commitment to civil rights, equality and humanity. We’ve got this, District 46. We’ve got this, America. 💙❤️💙❤️🇺🇸 #BlackLivesMatter#BLM#smalltownusa
Tonight was powerful and Mother Nature provided a rainbow above our heads as 196 of us came together including Camp Hill Police, to kneel for 8 minutes and 46 seconds to honor #georgefloyd and all Black and Brown Lives lost to brutality. I am proud of my very small suburban white borough for showing up with compassionate hearts and caring. #blacklivesmatter ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 #creatingchange#smalltownusa

Ok we promised more... this is the new set up! Fully functional screen printing studio! It used to be a chicken barn and after LOTS of cleaning and carpentry, voila. We are set up to print some custom orders this weekend, plus now we can print more of our own designs! We are stoked to finally have this all up and running, and can’t wait to see what’s in store from this adventure!!
Our Adoration is summertime in a glass. Aromas of candied strawberry, raspberry and hints of rose are wrapped into this refreshingly effervescentt rosè. 📸: @siphappensstudio

Scale between 1-10, how much do you love this cottage in Amagansett? 😍
Such a beautiful capture by @skaufman4050.
Quick note: I’ll be posting more photos from all over the state and would love it if you would use #prettycitiesnewyork for your locations outside the city. (And keep prettycitynewyork for nyc shots. I know they’re so similar - it just helps me when organizing posts 😊) Hope you’re all enjoying the long weekend!

I’ve been asked by several about my Facebook—I’ve deactivated it. About a month ago, I made the decision. For this small Oklahoma town, there was too much drama and too much negativity. Life is hard enough, and I found my entire mood changing after I scrolled my feed. It affected the way I looked at people, and I realized I was becoming very critical of my “friends”. It was time to make a change, and I needed to remember that I am called to love people, even the people that are hard to love. I love the positivity I see when I scroll through Instagram, and I LOVE seeing everyone’s stories. I’m going to work on putting a little more effort in to mine. #smalltownusa#oklahomagirl#lovegodlovepeople
