SnowMoto time! Such good conditions this last week, & we’ve been on the bikes everyday since Thursday! Got to spend some time on one of my clients @timbersledproducts Riot LE/300xc-w TPI, with TSS/TRIO today, what a different kit that is!
Conditions were 8”-18” fresh, mellower meadow riding and power line ripping. In the POW, Riot mode is very active, and you can feel the bike cantilever. The front end definitely pops out of the snow, and the back feels like it sinks down. It makes playing off the side of trails pretty fun, but not something for covering ground efficiently. We figured out a good setting for the POW, so it pops up and feels more similar to the ARO so it was more precise, but still more playful than an ARO. It would be good to get into some more hilly terrain to test this setting to see how it gets around, & if the kit trenches or rides. Overall, was pretty impressed with how changing the shock settings made the kit respond differently enough that there were 3-4 very definitive ride characteristics coming from the kit. Back at it for the next three days of ride and guide snowbike rentals!
