The day we had Leiko (Eleiko the softest and sweetest cat on the planet) put to sleep, I wandered into a fabric store @eastcoastquiltco to distract myself. And bought these fabrics.
In January, Newfoundland got all of the snow in the world in the span of ten days, so I made this quilt top.
Four months ago, the world started going to hell in a hand basket, so I dug out this top and dropped it off at the East Coast Quilt shop for quilting when it was finally possible to do so.
Today I picked it up. It is beautiful. It still needs a binding, which I will cheerfully pick away at in the evenings. But it’s rather nice to see something so practical and beautiful come out of such strange, chaotic, distressing and surreal times.
Here’s to lemonade from lemons and growth through adversity, as well as taking pleasure in the acts of doing and creating. Were it not for lifting and gardening and quilting/knitting, I think it would be easy to fall into The Pit of Despair. But so far (touch fabric and iron) I’m safe.

The weigela took a significant beating during #snowmageddon2020 , and I had to cut back a lot of broken branches. Those that survived seem no worse for the wear though. I'm always amazed by how hard it is to kill some of the things in our garden.
💪👊Sold during Snowmageddon and kept together during the peak of NL Covid!
Congratulations to the vendors of 23 Regiment Rd on the successful sale of your home. It was my pleasure to sell it for you! 🤗
Special thanks to @corey3percent for bringing the buyer and being so easy to work with! 😊
I thought for sure that we'd have snow until at least July, but somehow it's all gone! The picture on the left is from March 10th, the one on the right is from today. Just a little perspective on how much snow we actually had!
The best little stove shop in Bideford, is looking at how we can get back to work. Once it’s safe to do so we can offer showroom appointments to individual customers for a highly personalised service on a one to one basis.
So we can become part of you winter survival plan. #winterapocalypse#snowmageddon2020#chesneyslondon#specflue
We had another 10 cm of snow on Sunday so I decided to get some snow dyeing before it disappears LOL🤣 Still have about 3 feet in backyard. Figure I’ll be snow dyeing in June😜. Between #snowmageddon2020 and #covid19selfisolating my sanity is being tested and this how I’m coping. Will be selling results on Esty in the next week have so much fabric need space.
This was a two-lane divided highway. Sending love to our local creeps dealing with day two of the state of emergency here in NL. Also keeping a close eye on possible purge activity. We’re callin’ in the military! ❄️💀
