Hoe was jullie weekend?! 🤗
M A R R A K E S H 🇲🇦 I loved my first trip to Marrakesh, there is so much to see and experience there that time seems to speed up. We would wander into the entrance of one Souk and exit on the other side of the medina about 3 hours later with no idea how we got there!
5 quick traveller tips:
1) don’t take photos without asking or buying something (or even offering a tip). 2) take dry shampoo, the smell of smoke won’t leave your hair even with washing. 3) keep any change/coins you get for tipping in the medina. 4) if you get a henna DO NOT get black henna. 5) Do haggle with any purchase but be respectful and polite.
I loved experiencing another culture and I believe that when travelling we should always respect their ways, regardless of how acceptable you think the western way of living is. In Marrakesh you should always dress modestly and cover up. Wear clothes that cover shoulders and knees. .
Goodbye Marrakech! You were fantastic! Or were we just fantastic? One thing is for sure.... It was fantastic..... Enjoyed every minute and it was good to feel so much joy after a heavy period. It was wonderful and good to laugh again... Thank you dear @robbmac88 ! It was special we could meet again in such a magical environment as Marrakech and the beautiful RIAD. Thank you so much for everything!!! After a good time, it’s good to go Home, with new energy and a suitcase with a lot of Souks 😉 #transavia#flying#flyinghome#suitcasetravels#souks#laughing#marrakech#goinghome
What to visit in Marrakech? (Перевод в карусели) ⠀
>My personal number one is the Majorelle Garden (Jardin Majorelle). One of the most beautiful gardens l’ve seen. It’s been owned by Yves Saint Laurent. (More details about this place - later)
⠀ >Number two - Bahia Palace (Palacio da Bahia). A 19th century palace with beautiful mosaic ground and fantastic detailed ceilings, and nice inner garden.
⠀ >Medina and souks. Medina is an old part of a city in North Africa. Here, in Marrakech, it’s an authentic narrow colorful streets with tradition marks (souks) and its own special atmosphere. Here the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa market square (which you can find on many old city pictures) is located. ⠀ >Saadian Tombs is amazing inside, however you can see the interior only from the inner garden. There is one part where you can walk in for a picture, but there was a huge queue. Didn’t impress us so much.
⠀ >Le Jardin Secret is a small palace with a nice garden, but, if you have a limited time in the city, I would skip it.
⠀ >Medersa Ben Youssef looks beautiful on pictures, but, unfortunately closed for renovations for at least next two years.
The prices for Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs and Le Jardin Secret are about 6-7 Euro for each and there were no long queues, when we visited. ⠀
Demain back home.
Bonne soirée 😘
📷 (SOUKS) j’adore « bader » devant toutes ses babioles !!! 😍
➳ Mornings in the Medina ☼
A winding labyrinth of stalls make up the infamous Moroccan souks. Be prepared to haggle but if you’re up to the challenge you can leave with some real treasures at a very reasonable price!

What is the one place you want to go back to? ✈️
For me, it's Morocco! Planning my 2020 travel destinations and thinking of including another visit to this magical country. The culture, the architecture, the decor, the food and the incredible landscapes -- Morocco is truly a fantastic place to visit.
I also wanna go back to Tulum, Thailand and New York next year ❤️ What's on your list?
SOUK IT ALL UP 😉✌🏼
Stepping into the souks in the heart of Marrakech Medina is probably like nothing you’ve experienced before 😅 - a maze of shadowy alleys and passages where you can easily get lost, a world brimming with multicoloured carpets, gorgeous pillows in all different shapes and sizes, exquisite antiques, shiny brass lanterns, colourful pottery and silver jewelry. A sensory overload, a potpourri of smells and noise and people all around, a perceived chaos which somehow seems to work which can be quite overwhelming at first!
It’s such an intense smell of different spices, motorbikes fumes, tanned leather, fresh olives, juicy oranges as well as the butcher shops which can be found around every corner drifting up your nostrils and a cacophony of different noises from shouting stallholders, rushing by motorbikes, snake charmers playing their flutes and sewing machines that run all day... quite a handful! At the same time you will be enchanted ✨ by the exotic chaotic hustle and bustle in a dreamlike world where everything seems to be colorful and golden and shiny, a world of flying carpets and shiny miracle lamps that inevitably captivates one once you step inside the Medina 🙏🏼!
The best way to approach the sensory overload of the souks of Marrakech is to take a deep breath, to dive in and to let this queer, extraordinary, enchanting world work its magic on you 😉👌🏼!
