*Domaine de Villaine, Aligoté, Bouzeron 2016*. This is Aubert and Pamela de Villaines property. The wines offer great value for money. The Aligoté has plenty of citrus fruits and hints of nuts, it's rather broad shouldered and will certainly age very well.
*Schönborn, Marcobrunn Grosses Gewächs 2014*. First petrol, then apple and peach in the nose, even a cider nose. Complex with a slightly bitter touch.
*Michel Guillon & Fils, Mazis-Chambertin Grand-Cru 2011*. This was WOTN for me. Explosive in the nose, here a bit petroleum too, then voluminous, grand and complex with a super balance in fruit and tanins. Very well integrated oak. Wow!
*Ch. De Fieuzal rge 1990, Pessac-Léognan*. Decanted it during 1hr and the 90 was just still so powerful, super nice color, plenty of fruit (red berries) and very much alive. This may still lay down a couple of years. Fieuzal normally needs cellaring in order to get soft, but once it's ripe, it's very good and compete easily with its more famous neighbours.
*Edetaria Seleccio Negre 2014* Terra Alta. A grand and voluminous wine! Quite heavy, but not too much, the 12months oak barrel is almost not present. Very well integrated wood! This grows majorly on slate - the minerality is a character which was very present. Lay down or drink.

This wine is from the Spanish winery Ego Bodegas in Jumilla. They started their winery with a different approach, from top to bottom, with as main objective 'sales and profitability' which should ensure the existence of the winery. And they succeeded, with nowadays modern wine technology to get the best out of their grapes and land; 'a wine which does not stand out but does not fall short because its virtue lies in the happy medium between two extremes' .
El Goru is a combination of Monastrell (50%), Syrah (30%) and Petit Verdot (20%). A full body wine that is easy to drink. A nice balance between black berries, cherries and oak. Very soft tannines and a hint of cinnamon makes this a pleasant wine!
The founders Santos Ortiz and Ioana Paunescu, have three principles: Ego (the concept of I), Talento (the ability to perform and carry out a task) and Infinito (the power to dream without borders) .
In our September wine tasting class, Aga Niemiec from Vinostito shall be taking us on a journey from the shores as we shall be tasting wines from the Atlantic coastal regions (wines of the sea) and those of Mediterranean identity (wines of the land and the sea). We shall taste and discuss the diversity of the Iberian climate and characteristics of indigenous grape varieties which thrive in those climates.
All the wines shall be organic and biodynamic (and suitable for vegans)and all shall be "minimal intervention" wild fermented with winemaking which is very respectful for the grapes and the land they come from. To complement these wines, we shall also enjoy the flavours of some Beo raw vegan cheese boards and chef's boards.

L back from her travels so it was flowers and Rioja last night 😁🌹🍷 A nice bottle of Vina Muriel Reserva 2008, plenty of strawberry fruits and leather. Quite a substantial wine, went down well with Saturday night pizza.

Epic Gonzalez-Byass tour & tasting. Man, I learned so much about sherry and got to try so many awesome expressions. If I wasn't a geek for the stuff yet I definitely am now.
Gracias a nuestros amigos irlandeses por su visita de ayer. Cata maridada con productos típicos españoles. ¡¡Incluso pudimos probar algún mosto!!

I've drunk more beer in two weeks in Madrid than I did in 3+ years in Brussels. It's hot! But the temperature has (mercifully) dropped by about 18 degrees in the two weeks since we arrived. Madrileños are now rugged up in scarves and jackets (it's still 20 degrees 😅), so it feels like the right time to venture into Spanish red wine. And venture we did! Into tiny, packed wine bars with extensive lists and exquisite tapas to match. #SaturdayNight#aboutlastnight#winelover
The O'Soro 2016 Godello from Gallicia Valdeorras.
2014 a cuvee of 40+ years Godello from +700 meters hight.
My first time tasting this wine- happy that the cellar contains same more bt to see the development in 5 years time- as it may be one of the 10 best white Spanish wine a tasted during 25 years.
Quit pale in colour.
Lots of mature fruit , mandarin flavours, herbs and minerals/stones and very detectable acidity.
Vaxy, vinous and well structured with tasteful acidity and minerals combining the perfume and floral flavours. A little alcohol though burning in the end - as expected from 14% alcohol
Nice balanced and not over powered by barrels.
A potential and very elegant wine.
Fermentation in 500 l French oak barrels. Still young but starting to mature. Store for at least 5 more years.
Wine advocate scores 97 points.
My points 94 today with potential to 96/97 with maturation.
Another nice wine from this producer are As Sortes, also from Godello. #spanishwine#godello#wine#winelovers#winetasting#worldofwine#winelovers#wineatitsbest
We enjoyed some lovely wines this past Shabbat Ki Tetzei with @netofa.winery ‘s Yair Teboulle and @nobowineandgrill ‘s Chef Josh Massin. Champagne Janisson & Fils Grand Cru is one of the best sparkling wines the kosher wine market has to offer, understated elegance with refined mousse. The Drappier Carte d’Or, also a star in the kosher sparkling wine world was the batch disgorged in 2016. Lovely aged champagne but it’s time to drink up. The 2017 Château Moulin Riche, @chateau_leovillepoyferre ‘s overachieving adopted child outperforms its excellent 2015 predecessor featuring remarkable complexity, balance and structure. @elviwines Herenza Rioja Crianza 2016 needs decanting for its oaky notes to integrate but then shows really nicely and it should evolve well over the coming decade. The unlabeled bottle is a Syrah 2017 from Netofa, the name of this wine hasn’t been decided yet but it is quite promising. The unreleased 2018 Domaine Netofa GSM and Tel Qasser Roussanne showed consistent with the previous vintages and therefore were greatly enjoyed. The Pacifica Riesling 2017 never disappoints, can’t wait to taste the 2018!

El Bierzo, Spain is a largely undiscovered wine region in Northwestern Spain. The vintners here primarily make wine with the grapes Mencia and Godello. These uniques wines and the #artisans , #oenologists and #winemakers creating this truly unique wine are featured in this video. I hope you get a sense of what Bierzo is all about and put it on your next wine tasting, wine tourism adventure.
The people are one of a kind. Warm and friendly, dedicated to making the best wine possible. A goal they've achieved remarkably well.
I am happy to know I can now get #Bierzo wine in Napa Valley . The word is out.

Tempranillo is a wildly diverse grape: capable of creating varied flavors and notes, and even different colors! This might be part of the reason it's so popular. Check out the link in our bio for a full rundown on this Spanish favorite.

Let’s keep up with my series on Catalan wines 😁 We are in Penedès. The area is better known for the production of 🍾cava and white wines, but we can also find some 🍷red wines like this surprisingly good cabernet sauvignon!
The wine is produced by @cellerparato, a winery located in El Pla del Penedès. They own 84 hectares of vines entirely run ☘️organic.
That cuvée Red Santa Clara 2018 is a 100% 🍇cabernet sauvignon coming from almost thirty-years old vines on very poor clay-sandy soils. Charming nose of black currant and blackberries. Medium bodied with some soft tannins and a nice mineral finish 👍 Rich, fruity and easy to drink cabernet with a great freshness.
A perfect red for a summer BBQ 😋 The total opposite of a Napa deep bold cabernet. Highly drinkable and very good 👏 A nice discovery during my last vacation in 🇪🇸Spain!
Cheers Celler Parato! I 👍 hope to have the occasion to try other cuvées you produce very soon!
