It started on a Sunday afternoon. A small group gathered in a flat in Hong Kong to discuss how they could help the homeless during the COVID-19 pandemic. Two hours later, they had pooled their resources, purchased 20 hot meals, and distributed them all to a group of hungry people taking shelter in a pedestrian tunnel. They also connected several of them with @impacthkcharity for help in finding housing, laundry, and a social support network. From there, a city-wide campaign is being developed to funnel donations through local restaurants to purchase meals for the homeless and the hungry in their respective neighbourhoods. The local restaurants get more business, the hungry are fed, and those who can donate can contribute in a meaningful way. Win. Win. Win.
