Our hearts are full and so are our tummies! 🍁✨♥️
Sadie it made it all the way to Goulais River Ontario for a cosy Petrowich family Thanksgiving. The van got some new custom woodwork done by nicks dad and a good interior mid trip tidy. Today we head to America and will begin our journey West. Thanks Fred and Bonnie for the fun times! #vanpanions#sprintervan#sprintervanconversion#roadtrip
Stella's typical stance whenever I take anything out of the garage area 🐶 goals for today 📝 1) find a house to practice at 🎳 2) find a winery to taste test and write a blog post at🍷 3) find a brewery to sample a flight and edit my first YouTube video🍺📽, 4) find a dog friendly restaurant for dinner 😋 . 🌟What's on your agenda today?🌟 **************************************************************** • • •
“We will look back at it and smile because it was life and we decided to live it.”
We are soaking up the moments and the views on our last few days in #Colorado and already counting the days til we’re back here in the spring!
Where should we head next?! West or South??

Does anyone else love the rain? 🙋🏽♀️ I’ll admit that some of my favourite #vanlife moments are when it’s rainy and autumnal outside. There’s nothing like bundling up inside the van with the thrum of rain on the roof, grabbing a blanket and either a book or a good film and snuggling up. When we’re planning a trip we always have several weather-related contingency plans, and always a selection of films, books and board games on board. Van life isn’t about perfect Instagrammable locations and vibes - it’s also about the everyday reality of living in a tiny, metal box, enjoying the ride in all its glory. We wanted a van and this lifestyle for so long that we always feel grateful for it, come rain or come shine. 🌧☀️🚌
Don’t get me wrong. I am over the moon with my van. It is basically everything I could have wished for as a canvas to convert into an adventuring machine
... BUT ...
I have to admit I would really like to fit some big chunky wheels and tires, and at the moment that is proving to be quite a difficult thing to do!
My van uses ‘dually’ wheels. That means it has 6 wheels, two at the front and 4 at the back. They are all the same but they either face inwards or outwards depending on where they are fitted. These wheels are used to allow for the higher weight my van is classified to carry. The problem is that this makes if difficult to fit aftermarket wheels. So difficult in fact that Mercedes do not think it can be done. Instagram is awash with van lifers who have fitted bigger wheels and bigger tires, but finding information on potentially converting a dually van to ride on normal wheels has proven to be almost impossible (I’d like to fit @blackrhinowheels Barstow 17x8s). If I have to live without then I will but I still have my fingers crossed somebody will have the info I am looking for🤞🏻
... and don’t get me wrong, I know this might require a lot of work. It might mean new hubs, spacers, PCD adapters, suspension mods, possibly even new axles ... but it must be possible, right?! ...
Little bathroom update! Swipe 👉🏻 to see inside 😍
What do we think of the new towels? Gotta be better than white right? 😅

We drove through like 7 tiny mountain towns searching for a Vermont postcard. We settled for this brochure.

We visited a spider web farm in VT too, but I like these waterfall photos better. 🕸🍂

We had practically no cell service through all of Vermont, but the drives sure were gorgeous. 🍂
We each took a shower in the van at this exact spot in Pebble Beach. Nobody knew, we put our window covers up, and showered away. Stealth showering has been a game changer. We’ve showered in some really populated places. There’s something satisfying about pulling off a secret stealth shower!
Happy Friday! We have a lot to be grateful for this week. We have the van back and she’s running great after a fluke incident took her down. We have amazing friends that put us up when sub freezing temperatures rolled into #denver and getting to see the girls watch their first snow. Having the company of great friends with us all the time here in #colorado has been so nice. And those are just to name a few.
It’s easy to get down when a major catastrophe happens, or when it’s freezing in the van, or when you’re in a new place you’re not familiar with.
For us, focusing on the upside of things is more important than getting bogged down in the negativity of life’s struggles. Once we started counting our blessings, our whole life changed. In #vanlife you’re going to feel extremely stressed out or extremely thankful. It’s truly a choice.
What are some of the things you’re thankful for this week?!

This space. Where we do dishes, brush our teeth, wash our hands, our feet, our faces and our armpits 😅
I recently saw a post @theavocadotribe did saying the best tip they received when building their tiny home on wheels was to make sure every space has 3 uses (great tip btw!). It got me thinking about our space... This sink definitely has multiple uses and come to think of it, so does our toilet! We use it as a toilet, a step to climb into bed and an extra seat 😁
