The cultural triangle in the centre of the island holds a certain magic, with ruins from several ancient kingdoms, majestic tanks, hidden rock caves, and ancient sacred temples, revealing the fascinating and almost unbelievable ancient architecture, art, and engineering. 📷 @goose.96

Our little contribution to energy saving⚡🌏 Once in Sri Lanka you'll notice: uninterrupted power supply isn't as self-evident here as in many Western countries 📱📺📻💡You'll see: that raises the awareness for conscious exposure to our resources 🙏🌱✨
Maybe some of you have already seen our story today🥰
Environmental pollution is a big and important issue that we don't want to close our eyes to!👀 Right from the start, it was important to us to find ways to reduce the environmental impact of Sri Lanka. A lot of things work differently here than we know from Germany, so it quickly became clear to us that we had to find our own paths.🐾 Since we cannot change the entire system here, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that each individual can contribute to the fact that there is not so much garbage at all. In many hotels you get small plastic bottles to drink. As every human normally drinks at least 2l of water per day in a humid environment (=10 bottles per day!) you can imagine how much garbage is created at the end of the day. 🧃That’s why we recycle bottles that our guests can then refill from our water dispensers during their stay. We also no longer buy plastic straws so that we do not cause more pollution.🍃 And yet: it’s so difficult to do without plastic here. Therefore it’s super important that each of us is careful not to leave personal garbage here or to travel with it. 🙏Because there is no functioning waste disposal system in Sri Lanka.
Many small changes are big in total, so each of you can contribute a little bit that this beautiful country does not lose its shine🌞
In our story you will find a few tips on how to travel as environmentally friendly as possible!😊 📸 @sabrina_schmid
Despite being a relatively small island, Sri Lanka is endowed with a diverse collection of landscapes, climates and natural features. Sri Lanka’s infamous beaches have been enticing visitors for many years. However, the rest of the island harbours many more idyllic vistas.
