🆘️🆘️ LET'S FIND LEXI MAMA A HOME 🆘️🙏 Reposted from @adopt_leximama Sending lots of love and hugs to all my friends tonight 💕 .
Do you recognize this face? You should, as it is our beloved Lexi Mama. A previous long timer, who was just returned. We are utterly heartbroken for this 7 year old girl, who has spent most of her life in our shelter system. Lexi first came to us as a stray in 2014, with her brother. She was reclaimed by her owner, only to reappear in 2015. This time, her owner didn't come back for her. As much as we love Lexi, we were obviously not happy to have her back. Lexi's day finally came, in September 2018, someone came from afar, fit all the criteria we needed to find her the right home but it didn't work out, and in July 2019 she was returned. See, Lexi Mama takes a long time to warm up to new people, which her adopter knew, but I guess they realized it wasn't for them. All we know is that Lexi Mama is a special girl, looking, once again, for that special person or family, willing to put in the time and be patient with Lexi. After all these years in the shelter, it's no wonder she may have some issues that need addressing. Lexi is currently looking for a solo pet home; no dogs and no cats. Also, everyone in the household must be at least 17 years of age. Due to discomfort with strangers, Lexi Mama cannot be homed in apartment buildings. This poor girl has been dealt a crappy hand in life for sure, and we are hoping and praying things begin to look up for her... A couple of seconds after this photo was taken, I scared the crap out of a dog 🙊 I barked at it for coming to close to me.
We've had a lot of progression in our training, and I've gotten much better and more comfortable at passing other dogs on our walks. But sometimes I still react badly. So it's a work in progress, and hopefully I'll feel safe around other dogs again ❤
I've had some bad experiences with other dogs, so I'm a bit traumatized. I used to get along with all dogs, and went on playdates and so on. So it hasn't been easy for me nor mommy after everything changed. But we do our best, and keep on with our training. Some days are great, and some days are not. But all in all I'm doing better, and that's something 😉
We have been informed that this weekend is longer, so let’s lay down some ground rules prior to it commencing.
1. You will take us on an adventure
2. Sleep ins are a must, and god help you if an alarm goes off
3. We’ve seen the treat supply, they better not be limited
If these rules are broken there will be consequences
