Time for another big reveal? This is the before and after of our new living room/old dining room. We still need a rug and to add some art to the walls. But it’s already such a massive change from the before. I’m in love! .
We haven’t really had to do a great deal of major renovating in this room, we wanted the TV on the wall so had to chisel the wall to hide the wiring - huge pet hate of mine wires! Then we just had to paint, get new blinds and fill with furniture but all in all happy with the ‘after’ results - swipe for before @pimpupmypad
Day 18 of #storyofmyhome
• Heads up!
I love the space on our stairs, I just think there’s something really quirky about the little shelves and I’m constantly faffing with what’s on them.
I picked up this fresh eucalyptus from @hmhome last week and moved it all over the house before I settled on having it here. Heads up or you’ll miss it! 😂
I always thought that cushions or maybe even plants were my addictions when it came to interiors but the more and more I look at photographs I take, the more and more I think my addiction may be to white bedding!! 🙈🙈 .
That’s all fine & dandy in the summer months when fake tan isn’t essential for my pasty chicken legs 🦵 but party season is getting close and #faketan is now a must! I’ve used @bellamianta for a long time now, I love it but I also love my white bedding to be white! Any pre party season tips from you guys & gals out there would be massively appreciated xx 😘 .
PS. I have hardly had any time to browse through insta but planning a massive catch up with a coffee in hand this morning... what have I missed???!! Xx @myhousethismonth - if you look #upabove you’ll see the gorgeousness prints I got in ikea that ‘altered’ I coloured over the yellow in the picture with green! @storyofmyhome - #headsup and you’ll see it too! I think Pablo Picasso is ok for a while yet though 🎨 .

Anyone else come back from trips with rubbish home gifts. Picked up this chopping board from Lisbon last week for no other reason apart from it had a tile on it 🤷🏽♀️ Thanks for the love on the last post...❤️ #storyofmyhome - Head's up
Day 17 of #storyofmyhome
• Finishing Touches 👌🏻
I love it when you change up the decor in a space because it’s the finishing touches that really make all the difference! I recently painted our kitchen cupboards (In case you didn’t already know!). I didn’t buy very much at all accessory-wise, I mostly just moved things around but I feel like it made a massive difference!
Anyone else’s weekend disappear in a flash? I know mine did! A big mix of Christmas shopping, visiting family, wreath making, food shopping and chores. There is no signs of things slowing down in the rund up to Christmas, our weekend are pretty much fully booked with plans. But that’s still all to come, for now it’s back to work for the week.
It might be Monday again but in the plus side we are edging closer to a more acceptable date to decorate in full festive splendour (I’m itching nag to get the tree up)... even though I may have jumped the gun by putting my wreath on the door already.
This is about as high as I could go in the living room, standing on tiptoes with my arms stretched right up, not to bad if I do say so myself, for someone snapping blind.
This is a lesser photographed corner of our living room from above. 10 points if you can spot our little ‘pet mouse’. Hope your Monday feels short and sweet.
Day 16 of #storyofmyhome (forever catching up!) 😫
• Beginners Luck 🍀
So I’m pretty new to the whole home instagram account thing. I only started my account in September but I’ve spoken to some really lovely people, it’s such an amazing, friendly community. I’d say that it’s beginners luck but I don’t think that it is! 😊
I couldn’t resist taking this picture this morning, I just love the view from our bedroom window. 🖤
Sharing my fabulous zebra print coat hooks by @zoe_morton_shaw_interiors this morning and giving you the heads up that she has some fabulous Christmas goodies in her shop - go check out her page!
And if you too are a creative type, like the lovely Zoe, by not check out @sharing_creatives and tag us #sharing_creatives with anything you’ve made, drawn, stitched, painted, upcycled, we love creativity of all kinds and I am hosting today so there will be shares a plenty!
It’s a crisp sunny autumn morning here in Yorkshire and I’m off out walking dogs today, testing out my new snow boots to keep my tootsies cosy! Bye for now 🐕🐩🐕🐩😘 @storyofmyhome HEADS UP
I am a great proponent of large light fittings, whatever size your room is. Here are just a few of mine. I go into lots of homes which have been painstakingly furnished, and they have the meanest light fittings or shades. And don't get me started about fugly bulbs!
Second spark to a new light life was the bedroom with a old fitting we already had and some chalkboard paint and colour coded flex to tie in with the theme in the room, chuck in a oversized lamp and hay we have light !
ad| A few photos from a dreamy gifted stay at @middletonlodge A country estate hotel designed and lovingly styled by owner and architect Rebecca Allison and her husband James, this is a place for interiors lovers... but also garden lovers and food lovers. You’d love it if you love the great outdoors, bike rides, woodland walks. You’d love it if you love spa treatments by day and cocktails by night. We did all these things when I visited for a nights stay with my lovelies @bridget.mackinnon@email@example.com and it was perfect! My highlight was dinner at the incredible @forgeatmiddletonlodge followed by us all piling into the hot tub back at Bridget’s suite! 💦 #itsprimupnorth#middletonlodgeestate

18. Heads Up
One of the main things we fell in love with when we viewed our house was the high ceilings. Most of the ceiling heights in the house are 3.2 metres with the exception of the main living area which is double height 😳 As you can see Dean (who’s 6ft3 in the white T-shirt) and Ben were having to do a lot of looking up when they were putting up new stud walls! Let’s hope they didn’t have too much of an achy neck after!
What was the main thing you fell in love with when you were purchasing your house? #storyofmyhome @storyofmyhome

Monday already?!🤯 it feels like the weekend went by in a flash. Never enough time for anything is there?? 🙈 Least not all the little DIY things we need to do around the house. I’ve been meaning to re-hang this gallery wall for ages and then I was thinking, seeings as I have to fill in all the holes and re-sand then I will have to paint it again and that of course raises the question - does it have to be the same colour🤔🤪 and so now I’m toying with a warm pinky terracotta and as I say that you just KNOW that this is turning into more than a ‘few little DIY things’ I’m exhausting myself just thinking of it. 🙄 #myhomevibe#myhometoinspire#sassyhomestyle#gallerywalldecor#gallerywall#gallerywallgoals#ihavethisthingwithcolor#colourcolorlovers
There are only a couple of days left before it's too late .... You could be the lucky winner indulged by our best selling scented beauty - Bloom. Not to mention all the other incredible prizes (swipe ➪ to view) from so many talented women in business.
One thing having a baby has taught me, is the value of time.
Before I had her, I would struggle to say no to things I didn’t really want to do, because I felt like I had all the time in the world to do the other stuff.
Whereas now, I’m soooo much more picky.
Saying yes to something, whether it be a photoshoot, a collaboration, a personal arrangement... means I have to say no to something else.
It usually means I have to say no to spending time with Mollie, or to spending valuable time working on my business. And at the moment, I just don’t have a whole lot of time to spare.
In turn, this has made me reevaluate my prices. (Am I getting enough back from the time I have to spend on each project?) And my priorities. (Things that once felt so important now just feel like a bit of a pointless nuisance.). And I wanted to share, in the hopes that it might not take YOU a life changing event like having a baby, to recognise the value in YOUR time.
Say yes to the things that add to your life and make sure you are charging realistically for your time. Because it’s worth something!
Heads up I’m not actually sat on the loo! 🚽
Well technically yes but the only business is admiring the new wall coverings not any other kind. Phew!
Heads up! @storyofmyhome
From above @myhousethismonth
FROM ABOVE 🏡
Throwback to last summer when we hired a cherry picker and cut some of our trees down. We extended the cherry picker as high as it would go to get this pic of our house (see second pic) and some of the lovely houses nearby - I love the one to the left of the photo 😍
No it wasn’t just for Insta, nor some kind of inspiration ‘from above’ (@myhousethismonth ) that made me stick this dried up greenery (flower) ‘heads up’
(@storyofmyhome today) into the bucket 🤣...just some down to earth common and natural ‘sense of hygge’ ( this week’s theme @myhousejournal ) 😜. Have a lovely start into the week, peeps and keep it natural 😜!
Day 17 #storyofmyhome Finishing Touch
I’ve finally ordered the wallpaper to go above the fireplace which I think will be the perfect finishing touch 🤓
A very fun girls’ weekend has been had - plenty of sherries and fab nosh. Had a wander around Oxford Street and managed to bag a couple of Jonathan Adler goodies at @hmhome! Would also recommend @_5social for a great lunchtime escape from the madding crowds 👌
Monday ☕️💫| Morning ☺️That clock always gives me away #alwaysalatergram 😂.Not really sure what the point of this picture is. Look I cleaned the kitchen?!🤷🏼♀️🥴Up super early this morning as Alex has decided two breakfasts is the way forward. Yup, he’s my son alright! 🤪 PS - Really loving this green smock dress - a recent buy from Primark - so easy to just throw on with boots. #whatmamaworemonday

Sunday’s well spent 🙌🏻 Now, this may well be the most rock n roll caption I’ve ever done, but today I spent my day clearing out my kitchen cupboards and reorganising them and hot damn I feel SO much better 🤣💁🏼♀️ It’s amazing how much crap you can accumulate over the years 😂🤦🏼♀️ Then I had to quickly sort my scummy self out because I’m off out on a little date night with Joe’s mum and his Auntie to go and see Last Christmas which I’m absolutely buzzing about 💃🏼 Has anyone else seen it yet? What’s been the highlight of your weekend? ✨
