It was great to see how well established the plants had become in the WaterUps beds that we installed on 15 Dec as part of Project Chippendale which, in part, is helping “green” the inner city.
The first video shows just how much the native violet has grown already.
As was planned we (@michaelmobbs and I - with the enthusiastic assistance of Catherine who is on holiday from Paris) retro-fitted a Subpod into the Waterups corro kit bed.
The Subpod will collect food scraps and compost/recycle them.
Nutrients from the compost will also help feed the soil in the wicking bed.
The Subpod also provides a convenient platform to sit on and take time to enjoy the garden and look at the flowers (as the last pic shows!)
A 20 hour journey and we are home; thank you Japan for 2 weeks of pure stimulation. Now, we sleep. 🌿🍃🌑 #HaarkonInJapan

Sunday; what are your plans? We are off to find cinnamon buns and map out our diaries for next week... although we are not in Osaka as the picture suggests but we found this one lurking in our drafts so thought we’d release it into the world. ☕️🍩 #HaarkonToursJapan
