I don't run... like hardly ever. Once every 6 months to be exact. HOWEVER - when I do I make sure to find the most beautiful views so I don't just turn my happy ass around and do sprints. *
I have never been a cardio queen or "runner" - nor do I ever intend to be. I have always found peace under a heavy barbell or hitting the shiz out of a softball. but today... today I needed nature and I needed a long run to process everything going on in life. The good, the bad & the changes I need to make for a more successful future. *
Today was a switch up for me & the nature views gave me what I needed. It made me be present. It made me get lost in my music and in my breathing. It made me insanely grateful to be alive. It allowed me to process everything. Today- I found peace on a long run. *
Just all a gentle reminder to step out of your comfort zone and find other avenues to gain peace in your life.

Mohammad inspires me every time I have him in class. His OTF journey with us started almost exactly one year ago in September when he took class for the first time. He had already lost a significant amount of weight before trying out OTF, and had expressed a desire to continue on his weight loss journey while adding strength as well.
Fast forward one year, and I'm blown away by Mohammed's resolve and determination. He has stayed consistent with his workouts, and every class he shows a huge amount of EFFORT! His work has paid off, Mohammed has lost 60 lbs since starting his OTF journey, and his base pace on the tread has gone from 4.5 mph all the way up to an incredible 7.0 mph!! Awesome work Mohammad!! 3 or 4 times/year I do a soul crushing #workout like this...why, you ask? To push through #mental barriers. I know my #body can handle it, I train it religiously. The breakdown usually occurs between the ears. Every once in a while I need to push myself just a little bit harder. A little bit further. Mental toughness is a key ingredient in every recipe of #success on the planet.
I know I am capable of SO MUCH MORE than I put out on a regular basis. I just need to learn to push through the pain and quiet the negative self talk.
This workout took me over an hour. The stations got progressively harder. I wanted to quit. I wanted to change the rep scheme. I almost turned the video off and pretended like this never happened. I’m glad I didn’t.
