After a long, hot day of travel, we finally dropped the anchor around 6 yesterday evening. Augustus watched tons of birds diving for fish while Ross and I enjoyed drinks on the trampoline until well after nightfall (because no bugs!) The stars were bright above us as we enjoyed warm showers on the sugar scoop. Bioluminescence flickered around the dishes as I washed off the remnants of a delicious pasta dinner in the anchorage water.
With so much time and energy spent maintaining this lifestyle it’s a comfort when nature gives subtle (but definite) reminders of why you do it.
