I think light trails is like the first thing anyone does when they get a camera with manual controls. Yup I did, and I still do, annnnnd I still suck at it! Haha. It was so frustrating with all the variables...cars changing lanes, no cars, one car, too many cars, bunched up, too spread, you get the jist. It’s always good fun though with long exposure and I’ll be doing more of this that’s for sure.
Fujifilm xt1 // 50mm // f11 // iso200 // 10-25sec
To create this it was made using three photos. Shot on a tripod so positioning never changed and various shutter speeds. Aperture was, I think f11. one shot for the sky just before blue time. I much preferred how it gives a bit of a 80s Miami sunset vibe. The other was for the Canadian Geese which flew by in the shot I took previously, not ideal settings to freeze them, as I wasn’t planning on even capturing them. so I tried to sharpen the better shot ones as good as I could then a couple at the front of formation were a splodge beyond my abilities to save which I didn’t like, so I used a Bird brush and replaced them. That’s it. Saved and back to lightroom for some overall adjustments. All in all this took me about 15mins to edit this up and I’m pretty pleased considering it has been awhile and was so gun-ho. Tell me your experiences with long exposures?

■ I travel. And when l travel, l wander. Early in the morning. In the mindle of the day. Late in the evening. And I wander again and again and again. And while wandering, I see. Landscapes and seascapes. People and little animals. The sea, the sky, the horizon, the nature. But more important than seeing, is the fact that l feel like unfolding, opening up. Opening my eyes, opening my mind, opening my heart. Above all, I feel like opening myself... ■
■ Some Fridays are meant to be the perfect gift for the self-contained people. A piece of sky, a piece of ocean, a book and a sofa to be left alone. And then, all of a sudden, a kaleidoscopic horizon emerges in front of your eyes. Nothing else to dream of, nothing else to ask for, nothing else to need more than this... ■
