Sometimes life is tough...things don't always go according to plan no matter how hard you try, no matter how much effort you put in, and no matter how badly you want to succeed...life sometimes gets flipped upside down and there's nothing we can do except to accept the hiccups and look at them as opportunities to go after something new! These obstacles may feel like they are getting in our way in accomplishing what we set out to do in our lives, but perhaps they are strategically placed in our pathways to redirect us to where we actually need to be instead of where we think and want ourselves to be. Sometimes, even if we want what's best, we don't always know what's best. And this is where God steps in and helps us out. I know I'm the type of person who always likes to plan my days out...but over the past few years, I have learned that sometimes God doesn't like the plan I created for myself, not because He doesn't love me, but because He loves me SO much, He only wants what's best for me. I have also learned not to fight Him - I quickly give up my plan and listen to Him and how He want's to direct me. This isn't always easy; in fact, sometimes this is so difficult because it goes against everything I want to do. Sometimes by listening to Him, it means I need to be still and to be quiet - something that makes me feel helpless. But my faith has been growing and I pray that it continues to grow to see the good in every situation - to always be joyful, and always pray before I do, and to always be thankful for even just the breath in my lungs to live another day.
Photo Tip ☝️ When photographing others at sunset or sunrise on the beach, try a wide angle lens (17-24), f/8 aperture, ISO 400 and a 1/40 shutter speed minimum (presuming the person isn’t moving too fast). A warmer white balance setting like cloudy, overcast or kelvin 8000-10,000 will result in bolder reds and oranges. Compose your image so to capture the subjects full reflection / shadow plus a little more foreground space.
