Self care is something that is SO important, but it’s often the thing we push to the bottom of our to do list because life gets in the way. Say it with me ... .
🌟I MATTER! .
🌟I DESERVE a break! .
🌟Taking some “me time” does NOT make me selfish, it makes me human. .
If these aren’t doing it for you, you can use some of the phrases I’ve heard the majority of my life from 3 very wise grandmas .
👵🏻“Christina, if you don’t put gas in the car, it won’t run.” .
👵🏻“Christina, you don’t eat right, you don’t sleep right!” .
👵🏻“Christina, if you don’t stop, it will stop YOU.” .
Taking care of YOU is essential. This concept is one I have struggled with for 95% of my life. I’m a people pleaser, I’m bad at saying no and am really good at “powering through” even when my body is telling me otherwise. .
So here are a few little things you can do for YOU! .
💆🏻♀️Add on the 10 minutes chair massage when you’re at the nail salon. You’ll thank me. .
🏠If you’ve had a long week and just need to stay home on Friday night instead of going to an obligatory dinner or gathering, STAY HOME! .
🧠Stressed out and need to regroup? Take a mental health day from work. The work will be there tomorrow. .
🙋🏻♀️Choose YOU and plan a “me” day. Whatever that means ... could be sitting on your couch, could be going to the spa, could be going to Home Depot (if that’s what makes you happy). Just make sure it’s all about YOU. .
🌸 Plan a weekend retreat (this is one I really want to do this year). .
📚Read a book. .
The possibilities are endless. Just make sure that when you are planning, you are doing so with YOU in mind. Thanks for coming to my #tedtalk .
💕 Do you take time for yourself? ...Like being outdoors, being quiet, just taking some time away from everything?
I love giving myself the time of complete silence in nature, enjoying the fresh air and an amazing view. It helps me to slow down and center, especially around busy times.
Sometimes we give ourselves too little time of rest and self care, to just focus on our needs and thoughts.
Remember to give yourself the time to restart.

If you’re sick you don’t have to apologize for cancelling XYZ with me. .
Yeah I might be bummed we can’t do something that day but overall I wish more employers would understand the benefit actually caring for their employees. .
AND if you’re self employed calling out sick that usually means you’re on your death bed because self employed people never say die.
. (Goonies anyone 😏) .
So PLEASE take the sick day, stay home, don’t drive in the blizzard and just take a break. .
The “100% hustle all day every day” mentality is not healthy.
Humans need rest. .

The most common complaint from my patients this week is that they're 'tired from the holidays.' And the most common thing people told me this week is that I 'look tired' 😅😪. Well, whether you were expending energy prepping and being around fam & more people during the holidays, are recovering from drama during the holidays, were working during the holidays, or are jet-lagged from travel (me!), etc, all those things are exhausting/depleting, so please give yourself some time to relax and recover!
