Do I need tanning lotion for indoor tanning?
The short answer is YES!!
It can be easy to assume that a tanning lotion is not necessary when using a tanning bed. You might even don't want to bother lathering up, but it all comes down to keeping your skin protected and to the kind of results you want to achieve!
Spray tan removal⠀
Whether you’re a regular tanner or a competitor we thought it was timely to impart some safe and effective tips on removing your spray tan!⠀
If you have not purchased a tan remover from us, we suggest you use one of the other below methods.
If you are a competitor we recommend both showering and bathing every day to ensure your skin is back to it’s original base without any remaining tan residue - ready for your next tan with us! Especially if it’s within a 1-2 week period!
✅ Buy our Black magic tan remover – this is the quickest way to remove your tan! Be sure to ask us for a bottle to purchase when you next visit our tanning studio or backstage on comp day, 😊⠀
🚿 If you’ve been tanned by us, please use the exfoliating scrub we recommend and an exfoliating mitt/gloves. Taking a shower, exfoliate your entire body and pay attention to areas like wrists, ankles, elbows where tan collects the most colour. Do NOT overscrub!⠀
🍋Lemon and Bicarb soda – Lemon is a natural bleaching agent and will help remove the dark remnants of your tan. Mix the juice of 1/2 lemon with a few teaspoons of Bicarb soda and mix to a paste (add more of either ingredient to get the right consistency). Take a shower and apply the paste on the skin and use an exfoliating mitt/gloves to gently rub off and repeat the process. Pay attention to areas like wrists, ankles, elbows where tan collects the most colour. Don't overscrub! We don’t want your skin to become irritated or apply to areas where there are cuts/open wounds. Shower off.⠀
🛀Run a bath - add baby oil or bicarb soda. A bath will help open up your skins' pores and help remove the tan quicker. Oils can loosen dead skins cells which is the outer most layer that gets tanned.⠀
Hope that helps!! Please tag and share with anyone who may need this advice! 😊👍
