Beans and rice are a staple for me. I just can’t get enough. There is just something about the combo that is so satisfying, I adore it! The dish featured here is my new spin on the classic New Orleans entree, ‘Red Beans and Rice’. Not to mistaken with the recipe in my cookbook, which is equally delicious, but this go round I updated a few things by changing the spices and herbs just a bit and by slowing down the cooking process even more. (So it’s really a totally different recipe altogether.) Yes, these beans take a long time to cook but that’s a part of the process: to slow down and to enjoy the the time spent stirring the beans and showing them love. Even if the heat is super low and it takes forever, the results are divine. Full recipe is linked in my bio for you!

I went out for sunset pictures. The sky changed dramatically on my way home. I stopped on the road to take this picture.
Our second session was for D and M and their two lovely sons. They had just moved into their new house, which we had done a small part in helping them cleaning up and renovate. It was great to see them enjoying the new residence. I loved the lush green shade in front of their house, and the smiles of this beautiful young family.

Record Numbers ... The final score across the board after a record-setting day at the ballpark. The NJ Jackals would set a Can-Am League single game record with 7 home runs and tied a single game record for most runs scored with 23. 2018.
This photo makes me want to itch. Not only was I recovering from poison oak but I was attacked by the welcoming mosquitos 🦟 at this incredible sequoia grove. But it was too beautiful not to continue to shoot. At least I could enjoy this later!
