Meet Barn Cat #2 . We inherited this little skittish female when we bought the farm. Barn Cat #1 is identical, but a boy. ⠀
Both disappear and reappear depending on how annoying Scully has made herself. She REALLY likes to bark and chase cats despite our constant attempts at training that out of her. ⠀
Renfri, on the other hand, just hopes for kitty cuddles on a constant basis. She and #1 are besties when he decides to grace us with his presence. ⠀
I’ve started feeding them in this “tree house” to give them a little bit more space from Scully. Maybe one day everyone will get along. 😹
Get it, girls! These little lady bees are busy feasting on some sugar water I spilled in the hive while feeding them. During the winter, beekeepers often have to give their bees supplemental food sources to make sure that their bees can make it through until spring when flowers start to bloom again. Each hive is different and each hive’s location is different, so listen to your bees when deciding whether or not to feed.

She’s always very excited when our horses are turned out to the front pasture. Why?
Because she LOVES persimmons!
She leaves the herd and heads straight for the persimmon tree at our front pond!🌿🌿🍊🌿🌿
Came across this beautiful Ferruginous Hawk in a recently plowed cotton field. Hawks are so hard to photograph due to their speed, but I caught this one off guard. I managed to take a few photos before he/she flew off.
It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since we started working on the 1915 Story Video with @juanjosephoto and @rebekahpaulphoto . It was literally 6 months in the making, from writing the script, coming up with a shot list, waiting for the right season to film the video, editing (and praying all the animals behaved, which amazingly they did! (besides a stubborn steer mounting the rest of the herd, but they were able to edit that out, oh and Biscuit would NOT leave Rebekah alone begging for a good scratchin). It was so much fun creating this video (especially with an extremely creative team). I remember telling Juan on our first phone call that I want it to be cinema like and have a climax. That's all. 😂We waited to launch the video upon completion of our brand new website and ordering system (and the launch of our Grassroots Club meat subscription) last June - and it's been a wild ride since! If you missed us posting this video last June, it's now on IGTV! :)
