Little sneak peek of our new TV set up in our upstairs living room. Just need the knobs and decorations and it’ll be done.

Our exterior renovation started out with a lot of saving and a lot of sketching. I can't believe we are 99% finished...really, sometimes I have to pinch myself. The goal was to modernize the exterior of our 1989 home on a limited budget. Later this week, I will explain how we achieved our goal (this exterior reno cost us about the same as a mid range kitchen reno). But, for now, I just want to enjoy just how far our home has come. Swipe left for the before and see story highlights 'Exterior Reno' for the process 🙌🏼😄.
Who’s ready for a dinner with friends? Since we can’t get together around the same table we’re sharing dining spaces that are not only dreamy but also come with guaranteed good company. Check out @simplystyledinspo and her beautiful dining room. The good thing about dining at Nancy’s is that there would be guaranteed good food too!! Be sure to check in next week to see who’s place we’re heading to next Sunday!
The first reason we fell completely in love with our house was the kerb appeal. Those sash windows, that bay window, that brick detailing, it all sold it for us. We knew this was the house we wanted. As I’ve said before, we were originally buying a house around the corner which was the same as our current house but finished. After waiting for 10 months they took it off the market. We were heart broken. It’s only then that we went around these streets posting flyers to see if anyone was selling their house that we came across where we live now. Luckily for us Christine phoned us back and the rest was history 🙌🏼. This house was very different from the other house we were buying, in the fact that it need lots of work doing to it. In the end this worked out for the best as that meant we could afford to extend and have our dream kitchen 🙌🏼. Everything always works out for the best even though it doesn’t feel like it at the time.
We’ve had all the timber sash windows replaced from the original single glazed window with secondary glazing to beautiful double glazed timber sashes. I just love a timber sash 🖤. Flick through for some before and during shots of the front bay window. .
‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE EID // And I am exhausted, y’all! The cleaning, the baking, the spontaneous patio door makeover (which you can see a little bit of in this photo!). 😀 Eid Mubarak! ❤️ So very thankful for all of you and your support. Grateful for tomorrow’s Zoom family session and home baked desserts, for health and wellness, for being forced to slow down and reflect. 🙏🏼 I’m off to take a much needed hot shower. See you tomorrow! #sofreshmyhome
Who else treats their dogs like their children!? 🙋🏻♀️ No, Murphy does not have his own room but he acts like he owns everything in this house anyways 😂 #chihuahua .
My letter cards and shelves are live on my Etsy page, thanks so much for all the love and support for my little side hustle! Don’t forget, free shipping to everyone for the month of May!!! .
Saturday clean!!! ✨ I love Saturday cleaning days- feels so good to get the house cleaned in the nooks and crannies that get missed in the week. Baseboards, windows, doors and walls, cabinets, and floors. Those are my favorite parts! We have white all the other the house, so I have to stay on top of wiping walls and doors, and really everything, otherwise it looks dingy- baby handprints and footprints (why?) on the walls, bathroom doors are always dirty and so are all the entry doors, especially in the mud room. It all stays clean for about five minutes before someone comes in from the garden or with sticky popsicle hands. I try! Of all the chores though, I really hate cleaning the bathrooms.... and I completely dread the grout. I scrub the grout sorta halfway whenever I clean the showers and tubs, and do a big thorough scrub every once in a while. I love the tile, and cleaning the grout is worth it, but is still my least favorite cleaning task. Happy Saturday to you all, whether it’s a chore day or a fun day! I’m off to make a pot of coffee before I start on the next project! ☕️
Awe the sunshine has been so beautiful lately. I can’t imagine a lockdown without it. That’s not true, I can imagine it and it would be awful!!! We’ve been taking advantage of the new rules and spending our time when we’re not at the coffee shop at our beautiful little beach. It’s not the same as it was when we could stand and chat closer than two meters with the friends and neighbors we inevitably run into there but we’re getting used to it and as far as lockdowns go it hasn’t been too bad. What’s something you’ve enjoyed during lockdown/quarantine?

Since I started painting his room, he walks in and says "woaah", so I'm thinking he likes the color! I almost have a first coat on all the walls + I'm really loving the way this is turning out! I'm way too excited to get the whole room together already, but I'm trying to find joy in the process. Also, super proud of myself for snapping this pic with my camera & self timer 😄 #itsthelittlethings
I picked up this eucalyptus wreath at @athomestores last night, and it is so good. The color variations look great and the size is great.
On another note, my $15 bench that I built 8 years ago needs som refreshing, and I don't know if I want it to live here anymore. Not sure if I want one planter to the left of the door, or one on each side. And flowers or shrubs?
Happy Memorial Day Weekend, my friends! Thank you so much for all your sweet comments about my plant tour! I got a couple messages that I inspired them to get their first house plant! That makes me heart so happy! 🌵🌱🌿 In case you missed it, the link to the blog post is in my profile and I also created a highlight bubble for the stories!
Hope everyone is having a fun and safe weekend. If you take care of plants, nature will take care of you. #namaste 🙏 🌵🌱🌿
I GOT FLOWERS, Y’ALL 💃🏻 // Let us celebrate! It’s been forever since I’ve had fresh flowers in this house and I’ve missed them so much! Despite the anxiety an in-person grocery trip gave me yesterday, we now have flowers in the house for Eid tomorrow and I’m so happy! 😍 #navyblueandprettytoo
So this is what school looks like these days, my son in an Egg chair with my grumpy cat listening to his chemistry teacher give a class 🤣 what a crazy time we are living in. Thank goodness for technology. If this happened when I was a kid the teacher would have had to send cassette tapes LOL 😆 now I’m showing my age 😁
I said “yes,” to the tiny artichoke plant that my son asked me for last summer. I love artichokes and I love the way they look as edible landscaping in a garden... but I definitely did not expect the sheer quantity of artichokes we’d be harvesting. We’ve already enjoyed several of them and there are about forty still on the plant! Is this normal for a single artichoke plant? Anyway, we’ll be over here, trying to keep up with these artichokes. Thankfully they look as pretty in my kitchen as they do in the garden. ☺️
If you think you are too small to make a difference....try sleeping with a mosquito in the room ~ Dalai Lama
🌺 Let’s get our #weekendvibes on my friends! If you’ve been outdoors you know it’s getting on mosquito, gnat & bug season.
Citronella is my go to natural bug repellent 🦟 It’s bright and fresh fragrance, has hints of mint and lemon. To keep things beautiful & functional, I’ve brought in two types of citronella candles to my store. Link is in my bio.
🌺The large candle has 7 wicks & is 15” in diameter with 8lbs of 100% soy wax. The small candle is approximately 10.75” X 6.5”x3”. Once the flame has faded, enjoy this beautiful bowl for years to come.
Wishing you all a beautiful holiday weekend! Stay safe, have fun & be the difference.

Happy hump day people 🙌🏼. Not said that in a while as every day feels the same at the minute. Since the beginning of lockdown I have been non stop with the DIY - I have been absolutely loving it, completely in my element 👏🏼. I think I shall hit pause for a moment - well today. You will find me outside in the sunshine ☀️. You may have seen on my feed and highlights the little door project I completed the other day to while away the hours. I had a play around with applying a reeded decorative film to my door. Check it out in my highlights 🙌🏼

Welcome to the last edition of Jenny’s Crabapple Tree Views! But for real, all the beautiful blooms will be gone in the blink of an eye if we get the storms that are forecasted for the weekend! Im hoping to tackle a long over due painting project that is way up high this weekend? Any guesses? If your sticking around home are you planning on any house projects?
A few premature purchases have been made for this room one being the little cabinet project I’m working on as of yesterday. Ive been gearing up to start it since the beginning of the month and finally decided yesterday was the day I made a start. Todays plans consist of trying to get it finished and what ever the day decides to throw at me 🙌🏼. I have another @ikeauk order coming this Sunday 😬! I have ordered a new blanket and want a basket to keep them all in! Any recommendations for nice baskets? .
I’m still waiting on the rest of my @hmhome order for the #shelfie , fingers crossed it will be here early next week 🙌🏼. Utility rooms tend to be one of the smaller rooms in the house, ours may be small but we definitely try to make it mighty and worthy of some space on my feed 🙌🏼. You may have seen the make over I did on the utility room door? If not check out my post from yesterday and also my stories later today for a how to guide and information on where I located the decorative film I used. I don’t know about you guys but I’m glad it’s the weekend. There is typically not much difference for me at the minute with continuously DIYing but it’s nice to go at a more relaxed pace with help from Tom. Recharge the batteries for an energy boost for the week ahead. .
