After a busy, yet relaxing reading week, I am starting my next placement. I was quite nervous about it (first day jitters) and I tried to plan everything to a T. I got on the bus 🚌 this morning (a little earlier than needed) and went to the subway 🚆 which had suddenly stopped due to a possible fire 🔥! So now I'm on the bus, and my perfectly planned day is off to a rough start but I think I get a point ✔ for adapting (this is still a new city for me and I don't know all it's secrets yet). Wish me luck! #firstday#firstdayjitters#rd2be#adapting#ttc#torontothings#ttcsubway#populationhealth#Dietetics#dietitian
📍ST. LAWRENCE MARKET
All roads to good food lead to St. Lawrence Market, a city landmark more than two centuries old. Two hundred vendors sell everything from local mustard to fresh pasta, lobster to fresh bread.
Did you know? 🤔
St. Lawrence Market was named the world's BEST food market by National Geographic in April 2012.
Have you been there?

When doing a creative task, I'm sure most of you have experienced this. You spend hours thinking of how to make/write/design something and when you finally get to sit down and do it, your mind goes blank.
I was so excited to get back to playing with clay this week. I've got a market next Sunday and this weekend was my time to re-stock and have some fun with new tools, techniques, and shapes.
I sat down and felt lost. Even with so many ideas in my head, I was lost at where to start. Even with the excitement of trying new things, I got caught up in trying to make things fit the way I saw them in my head. I didn't let myself play and explore like I usually do. This ended up cracked clay, weird colour combos, and frustration over my tools not working the way I wanted them too.
It was a reminder that there's a reason I love to work in clay and it's because of the creative exploration it allows me. I can't get caught up in making it look a certain way. I think it's time to get the pen back to paper and sketch my eyes so I can create a better process. I didn't get some fun pieces made and I can't wait to share them this week!
