▪ The Rock of Guatape (Spanish: El Peñón de Guatapé), or simply La Piedra or El Peñol is a landmark inselberg also known as The Stone of El Peñol in Colombia. It is located in the town and municipality of Guatapé, Antioquia. The town of El Peñol, which borders Guatapé, has also historically claimed the rock as their own and thus has led to different names for the site.
The landform is a granitic rock remnant that has resisted weathering and erosion, likely a result of being less fractured than the surrounding bedrock. Peñón de Guatapé is an outcrop of the Antioquia Batholith and towers up to 200 meters (656 feet) above its base. Visitors can scale the rock via a staircase built into one side, a path that includes more than 649 steps to the top.

We are a regular family, in our 40’s with 3 kids we love so much- Shany (16), Lia (12), Yoav (10). If someone would tell me 20 years ago, when we were living in a small apartment (with kids), that one day we are going to to travel the world, I wouldn’t believe it... We were busy to study, develop careers, raise children and survive.
During last 10 years we lived in the US, sent kids to school and to after school activities, worked a lot, met with friends and visited our extended families abroad.
Honestly, we actually have never been passionate about full-time traveling. In 2018, we felt a need for a change, to do something good for our family, give extra experiences to our kids and explore more the world around us. We realized that life is so short and kids grow too fast so we need to act promptly.
It took us about a year to be ready financially and emotionally, to sell everything we had and start our journey.
We left Minnesota in July 2019 in a small 19 Ft old camper without a certain plan. During a few months of RV life we enjoyed traveling Canada, US East Coast and planned for much more in spring.
While the winter got closer we left our camper in storage and left to travel Central America. It was the best decision ever!
We visited many beautiful places, met interesting people, volunteered and learned a lot. It was another big step out of “comfort zone”! There were no more camper(=tiny house) life, no more language (English) convenience, no more same codes of behavior. There were only us with 4 carry-ons and 4 school backpacks- “new students” of a travel life... Now, under the shadow of the shut down I’m looking back and feeling happy we did it. We full of hope to continue to travel when the situation will be resolved.
Not sure where this journey will take us but I believe leaving the “comfort zone”, learning new skills and traveling the world full-time changed our lives. We survived bad conditions, bad weather, bad people and learned to be much more patient, calm, minimalistic and organized. I’m sure we’ll continue to transform for the better...
What is your story and what does travel means to you?

I hope you guys like this picture as much as I do, I think it’s one of my favourites so far! This was one of the first pictures I looked at and loved the way I saw myself and it made me feel really empowered. It’s funny what just one photo can do.
Happy that I found this old photo from 2 years ago!
Two impressive photo memories:
1. The fear of looking down was overwhelming😲... can't remember the exact dept but it was the deepest canyon I have ever seen!
2. I was wearing a black jacket at first and it made me INVISIBLE 🤦🏻in the photo so I had to turn the inside out of my jacket and retook it!😂
Anyway, I still soooo afraid of height till now...
🇮🇷 Thème : Places célèbres. Photo 5 : Place Naghch-e Djahan / Ispahan.

- A view of the pyramids at Giza from the plateau to the south of the complex. From left to right, the three largest are: the Pyramid of Menkaure, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Great Pyramid of Khufu. The three smaller pyramids in the foreground are subsidiary structures associated with Menkaure's pyramid...😱😱

Let the sea breeze blow your hair.. Let the sunset bring tranquility to your heart.. Let the distant places you travel allow you to explore yourself✨
Words can’t describe how beautiful the colors, shades and pattern of the sky & clouds at sunset time. You can’t not fall in love with it. Breathtaking! I would definitely visit again. One day. Enjoy the amazing walk up the Marjan Hill & admire the panoramic view of Split City at Sunset 😍😍 #dontmissout #stayhome#staysafe#hope#sunset
