🇯🇵 Yasukuni Shrine was founded by Emperor Meiji in 1869 and commemorates over 2 million men, women and children who died in service of Japan during different wars from 1868 through 1954.
This shrine does not hold the bodies of these people but their spirits/souls, know as “kami”.
The big issue with this shrine is that of those commemorated, over a thousand of them are convicted war criminals and some of them are A-Class criminals, convicted of having been involved in the planning, preparation, initiation, or waging of the war.
Due to the nature of the crimes committed, visits to the shrine by members of the Japanese government have been controversial and Prime Ministers can only visit the shrine as private persons, not as politicians
if you are lucky enough to be in Tokyo for cherry blossom season, you might be even luckier and get to see the best sumo wrestlers fight - for free! The annual Honozumo ceremonial sumo festival is held in early April and September at the controversial Yasukuni Shrine and it doesn't cost a penny - though spaces are limited so don't turn up too late! The arena is small, but gives every spectator a fantastic view of the action. You will also get a chance to mingle amongst the wrestlers as they arrive and stroll through the shrine grounds to the arena. Visit the website for dates etc, though it only shows the current year. They tour Japan, so you might be able to catch them in other Japanese cities if you are not in Tokyo. Enjoy!
The shrine and its surrounding area are also well known for #cherryblossom Viewing
Life, with just a little incentive can thrive anywhere and that’s why I find flora and fauna in the desert so fascinating.
With scare rain and low humidity, both plants and animals, find a way to shine and survive in the vast desert in the Baja California Peninsula.
Cactus flowers is something that will immediately catch you attention on this places; they don’t bloom each year, but when they do, they are bright and colorful.
A memory popped up reminding me where I was a year ago today...In Maui, grateful for the intentions I set, to EMBRACE COURAGE, RELEASE FEAR, all of which I’ve fully embraced.
God is good.
So are memories to remind you how far you’ve come and where you’re going. 🙏🏾❤️
“Last year I rang in the New Year with a
Yin Yoga class @modoyogala alongside my bestie Carl, surrounded by all of these beautiful souls, who we joined for a great sweat + really cool moment where we wrote down + set our intentions for the year 2018... -
-Given 2 pieces of paper, I said that I would release FEAR, and embrace COURAGE - huge step for me considering I had just had major surgery a month prior to that which almost killed me, but rather than slowing down, I ran head first into the next thing I always said I would do bc life is short and you can’t waste it being scared or worried that shit won’t work out.
Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t, but you’ll never know unless you try...And as a super cautious person who is not used to leaping, I know that it’s easier said than done but if you do nothing else this year, commit to taking at least one step to owning your life and the one you deserve. 🙏🏾❤️Much love and Happy New Year
Dreaming of.. 💭 Valkoisesta hiekkarannasta, turkoosista vedestä, palmuista, auringosta ja tästä hetkestä 🍍🌴 Kiitos ihanista viesteistä ja kommenteista koskien häämatkan muistelupostausta 🌸
Tätä kaipuuta valoon ja lämpöön lisäsi entisestään viime viikonlopun matkamessut 🙈 Kävittekö te messuilla unelmoimassa? Tarttuiko jotain mukaan?
Ihanaa ja toivottavasti aurinkoista viikkoa! 💛
Postando fotografia do fim de semana para esquecer que é segunda! E vocês, são monday persons?⠀
Aqui a semana arrancou lentamente, mas foi! Segundas também significam novos começos, novas motivações e novas metas. Go go go 💪🏼⠀
Boa segunda e boa semana pessoal! 👊🏻
Kozalakları evde boyamak benim icin artık bir kış hobisi 😂🎄 Sprey boyayı sıkıyorsunuz bitiyor. Sadece balkonda yapıyorsanız cam pencere açık kalmasın, boyalar acayip baş ağrısı yapıyor. Doku olarak ise @polisanhomecosmetics kesinlikle favorim .
In Shingu City, there are more restaurants and diners relative to population size. The peninsula is also quite famous for having the best vegetables. [ HOHOEMI ]
I had an opportunity to go to a unique bar that bears the host of the mother and daughter duo who is the final Geisha in this region.
Her hospitality and laughs are what to be sought for.

At this Izakaya, we were able to get a pair set of drinks that matched the seasonal food in the region.
The Bar hosted a massive display of Sake Bottles that is almost the equivalent size collection of that of a small Museum.

Big energy on this Monday (and every Monday, it’s my favorite day!) This morning I spent a lot of time reflecting and evaluating my business. It’s been an incredible 4 years and each year it gets better. The lessons are harder and the growth is bigger. One simple thing I wrote down to have a bigger better year in business for 2020 —-> I’m not walking with the talkers, I’m running with the doers 🏆 #bigbusiness#2020vision
