Das sind all unsere dieses Jahr gesammelten Flaggen in Europa 🇪🇺 @whatabus_de und mehr werden in nächster Zeit wohl auch nicht mehr dazu kommen.
Wir wollen in den nächsten Wochen ein paar Gänge runter schalten und uns gezielt die Zeit nehmen, um all die Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen, die wir auf unserer Reise seit Oktober 2018 sammeln durften - und das waren einige! - , Revue passieren zu lassen und zu verarbeiten.
.
Das war auch eine Erkenntnis nach unserem "Kurztrip" nach Spanien letzte Woche: Unsere Speicher sind voll. Wir sind nicht mehr aufnahmefähig für Neues.
Die bisherige "Leichtigkeit" ist nicht mehr da.
Deshalb hatten wir auf dem Weg runter nach Spanien keine Motivation, groß irgendwas zu besichtigen oder so.
Unser Ziel war nur: So schnell wie möglich so weit wie möglich in den Süden ➡️ Andalusien, wo wir uns
a) ein paar Grad mehr ☀️
und
b) viele, schöne und inspirierende Treffen mit anderen Reisefamilien erhofften!
.
Am Ende wäre Letzteres unser einziger Beweggrund gewesen, die weiteren Strapazen der vielen Fahrerei, die uns - wie wir uns nun eingestanden haben - schon seit Ende Korsika keinen Spaß mehr macht, auf uns zu nehmen. Und ich denke, man kann schon an meiner Formulierung erahnen, wie wir uns dabei fühlten 😔
Wir wollten an unserem "Plan" festhalten, weil wir ja schon lange und immer allen erzählt hatten, dass wir den Winter in Spanien und Portugal verbringen werden.
Und haben dabei das Wichtigste außer Acht gelassen: Auf unser Gefühl zu hören! Genau das, was uns von Anfang an so wichtig gewesen war ❣️

Jog falls (English) and Jogada gundi or Joga jalapatha (Regional Kannada) is a waterfall located near Jog Village in Siddpura and the view point is in Sagara, Karnataka. It is formed by Sharavati river which originates and flows entirely within Karnataka state. The speciality of this waterfall is that apart from rainy season, it falls as thin streams of water trickling down the cliff but during rains, all the streams of falling water merge, making it a plunge waterfall.

We marvelled at the trees, felt chuffed with ourselves for our excellent animal spotting skills (side note ~ if you ever find yourself in a jungle, just stand still and be quiet and everything will come to sight) and made our way to sit amongst the monkeys🐒
We were admiring their climbing skills when Geshem looked at her foot and screamed
A leech was clinging to her precious little toes for dear life😱
We ran (with me pretending I wasn't panicking) to the entrance where a woman threw half a bottle of dettol on her foot and it just slid off (another note ~ dettol ~ jungle essential leech control)
After checking our bodies we head off on our way, exiting leech land to the warm enclave of the busy Kandy town center
We settled into a local cafe for some well deserved hot chocolate cake when I needed to go to the toilet
WARNING ~ if you dont like bloody stories, stop here
I went to the toilet, there was blood in my knickers, that's strange I thought, but just put it down to a leaky period 🤷
We continued on our way, I went round some shops and took a taxi home
We entered the house, suddenly I look down and see that my whole dress is FULL of blood😱
I ripped it off and ran half naked through the house (good job our homestay family was out) looked in the mirror and saw my bra was completely blood soaked too
I took it off and saw lots of little marks on my skin and it all fell into place
Whilst I'd been sauntering around town, those little suckers had been feasting on my body, enjoying my sweet blood in the warmest of places
Happily leeches do NOT cause disease ~ did you know this? I think I asked the entire population of Kandy (you know just to be sure) and one could say me and Geshem had a little blood cleanse (leeches have been used in medicine until modern times)
So that's that ~ it's not all beaches and sea stars and I'd rather it be leeches than ticks 😜
Moral of the story ~ there isn't one, just if there's leeches around, always check your boobs and bum cracks ~ they like nooks

So, it's totally normal to spend your vacation walking 200-some miles (many of those in the rain), wearing the same clothes day after day, showering with strangers, sleeping in 80-person dormitories and drinking wine at 10 a.m. 🍷🍷🍷...right?!
Since today marks the start of a very different kind of vacay (I'm headed to the beach 😎), I thought it was time for a long overdue recap of my last "holiday."
In October, I walked the Camino Portugués. Over the course of two and a half weeks, I walked 216 miles across two countries. If you followed my stories, you might remember i had the shin splint from hell and, at one point, seriously doubted I'd be able to finish.
But, with the help of two incredible people I met along the way, I made it!
How did it feel to finally reach Santiago de Compostela? Perfect. Even though I couldn't decide whether I wanted to jump for joy or cry (spoiler alert: I did both), it felt like everything was as it was supposed to be. I was where I was supposed to be.
