How’s everyone doing out there? Hoping this can provide some light at the end of the tunnel, that when all is good again, scenes like this will be waiting for us, healed and better then ever 🙌

Alright, let’s set the scene... You’re laying in bed, scrolling through Twitter and you come across the occasional travel posts that someone, without fail, retweets on your timeline.
You see all of these beautiful ass pictures of different destinations — photos of the that one swing in Bali, the gigantic, snowy mountains in Switzerland — and you’re tryna go!
You’re dead set, you’re about to Google the flights right neow but then you remember… oh wait, I’m black. Then you’re plagued with all kinds of (reasonable) questions like “um... are they racist over there?” and wondering if it’s actually safe for you to go
Then you dismiss the entire idea… it’s whatever, you can just plan to travel to the super touristy places that you know at least sorta welcome your black ass because they want your money… you move on and keep scrolling.
Well as a fellow negrette and avid traveler, I’m here to tell you that black travel has its perks!
The link to the post is in my bio! Of course use this as inspiration to travel AFTER the rona leaves us alone. Not now. Stay your ass at home for now... please :)
GUILTY CONFESSION: I have been watching old Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen movies and it has been my best quarantine decision so far. It has not been that easy to find where to watch these throwbacks but to my 90’s friends, you will not be disappointed. Watching these movies has taken me back to my tween years.

Any Olsen twins fans out there?

Mix up your wine night routine with a living room picnic!
🇮🇹Day 3/30 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This photo was taken atop the beating heart of Florence— Brunellesch's Dome (more on that later). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Jack and I were nearing the end of our study abroad experience and had yet to partake in perhaps the most significant activity there is to do in Florence— climb the dome. We waited in line for hours in the rain, and at one point I ran off to grab some gelato, hehe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once you reach the top, catch your breath, and turn your gaze southeast, you'll spot this particular view— the marvelous Basilica di Santa Croce. I would pass through the piazza (the public square) situated outside this basilica on my way to class in the morning. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Michelangelo, Rossini, Machiavelli, and Galileo Galilei are all buried inside the Santa Croce Basilica. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Note the traditional terracotta roofs of Florence, a deep orange. I love how it contrasts the rolling Tuscan hills. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Andrà Tutto Bene,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The only strut I’m doing these days is from the lab to the car to the house but I’ve still got that FRIDAY FEELING?
📸 @mister_lavin who also has that Friday feeling
Remember on this Friday, if the universe didn’t need you, you wouldn’t be here. Spread and kindness towards others. #roamtheplanet

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain” 🌤 I know this is one of the most cliche quotes but it couldn’t be more applicable right now. Although we all have to “wait inside” it doesn’t mean we can’t make the most of it! I’ll be spending my weekend starting to create an indoor content series. Although my apartment is not even close to being Insta-worthy, I’m going to try and get creative!
What are you doing while this storm passes?
