So busy catching my favourite colours in the world and living my Hawaiian dream this past week that I'm too busy beach-hopping to update on here, so here's one I took with @oahuphototours for the time being. Can you believe these colours?!

Survived but got an earful from coach cos I was rushing my set-up.
12hrs sleep incoming.
Going on an Instagram detox last week, I still don't know how I feel about Instagram. I like it for how it helps me connect with creatives and the ideas and inspirations it gives me on the destinations I'll be visiting.
Yet we all become different versions of obsessed when it comes to this platform existing on our phones. How do you deal with that, especially if it's part of your business and there's increasing emphasis being placed by brands?
Also does anyone feel like the very idols they are following on IG aren't that kind/ friendly/ chirpy as they appear on their public posts when you actually talk to them personally?
Chime in! 🛎 #BATWxEstonia

Staying gold with Ariel Goldner during tonight's Manhattanhenge. As the Sun sets around the time of the summer solstice, it perfectly aligns with Manhattan's east-west numbered streets, offering the opportunity to capture cinema-worthy photos.
Exploring new spaces in New York is always so much fun. Like being a kid in a candy store aka @max.bon, you’re always working the shot and using your imagination to create something awesome. Add a few lights and a model, and you can easily create a dramatic portrait or something fun and spontaneous. If you could escape to one place, without a care in the world and without having to worry about anything, where/ what would it be?
Me thinking about escaping work (aka travel) involves going to a beach 🏝, except minus the budgeting, transportation, packing my suitcase and accommodation. 😂 True story: travelling can be quite a pain too, isn't it? #BATWxVietnam

Feels great to be lifting 3-digit weights again.
Pretty heavy workload this week (13 cycling classes😱😱). Core engagement was abit off but working set didn't left me too fatigued. Bad habit of looking at mirror still persist😅😅 Focus: Set-up (could be better improved). Upper body accessories after that.
Carried-over fatigue from teaching 3 cycling (full 50mins) classses yesterday + fasted training.
But overall was painless movement and feeling stronger.
Taking off day tomorrow so that I can sleep longer to recover.

Isn't that the case with taking a vacation? We get to forget our responsibilities for a bit, let loose a little bit, spend quality time together a little bit, be a different version of ourselves for a little bit. And then maybe, just maybe, we come back a little bit different. Better different.
When was the last time you treated yourself to one of such holidays? 🥳 #BATWxAustralia

Why is the “Nomadic” lifestyle so trendy and glamorized? I just recently got off a plane and had to really think about where the heck I was - traveling a lot in a short period of time is hard but not having a home base, so much harder! What do you think of living nomadically? Questions, comments, (been there, don’t miss that) I’m thinking of making a video about the truth behind traveling to fast without stopping! #grantstomb#nyc
I think it’s interesting how whenever I scout a location I have this vision in my head of the type of pictures I want to create. Picking up portrait photography one year ago, it really has transformed the way I see and interact with people on the daily basis. It’s more than just snapping a moment in time with a phone or camera, but to relive a memory that you can enjoy with your friends and family for a lifetime. To connect with people authentically and capture their joy is truly something special.
Happy weekend! For me, it's a weekend spent at home with my husband (he’s not a giraffe though 🦒🙃) before to embark on our next (short but far) trip next week.⠀
Every journey gives me always a new lesson to bring back home. We spent the last 5 years traveling in many countries around this beautiful world and the idea is to never stop. South Africa was one of the trips that changed me personally and I’ll never forget it. 🌎 ⠀
Which of your journeys gave you the best lesson to bring back home?

Travel is not always about checking off Instagrammable places. It's not always about nailing that shot. It's not always about where your friends have been or discovering places you've never known. But travel is always about BEING AWARE. Being aware of differences and being respectful of them. It's the knowledge of how your entire life might have been different if you were born a different day, a different place, to different parents. It's learning to hold your tongue when you think you deserve more than you get, and instead, being grateful for what you have. 〰️

I should be doing anything but this. I should be packing for my trip in 3 days, catching up on my blog after prioritizing client work for what feels like way too long, start trying to jog and overcome my knee hurdle, start waking earlier and sleeping earlier. Yet I feel like everything is going on at once and I feel stuck in a rut. 😕 Have you ever felt this unproductive? How do you deal with it?

Happy Chinese New Year! ✨ Ever wonder why this is the biggest celebration of fireworks in the world? Myths talk of a monster named Nian (年) that would come every New Year’s Eve. All would hide in their homes, except for one boy who fought him with firecrackers. The next day, people celebrate the victory and good luck with firecrackers. “For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.”

It's not all about Atlantic coast and idyllic beaches in Brazil. Nature has worked its ways in many forms and shapes, specially filling lanscape with waterfalls, exuberant nature and wildlife. The 'Chapada Diamantina National Park' in the mighty state of Bahia - Brazil is a place of rare beauty with there towering canyons and spetacular views. Visitors are replenished with excellent bathing along with contemplation spots like @the.neverending.weekend found on top of the Fumaça falls - the second largest falls in all Brazil. Looking over the edge at Cachoeira da Fumaça. Standing over 340m to the bottom. 👏👏👏 Gotta be brave for this one!
We had no idea how we'd feel about the Taj Mahal... Super crowded and touristy? Or totally mind-blowing?
Well.... *drumroll*.... 🥁
We actually really loved it! We found some secret little spots to get away from the crowds, took epic pictures and had a great time exploring and meeting some lovely Indian families.
We put all our our best tips (23 of them in total!) together so you will have an epic visit to the Taj Mahal and not make the typical tourist mistakes (link in bio).
Oh, plus we're sharing an incredible cafe you NEED TO VISIT if you're in Agra. It is run by women who are survivors of acid attacks (which is sadly not uncommon in India) and helps empower these women and educate others about this issue.
Have you been to the Taj Mahal? Is it on your travel dream list?

This morning I woke up and saw one of those "on this day" memories on Facebook and realized today marks 13 years since Ben asked me to be his girlfriend. We don't really celebrate this anniversary anymore but coincidentally we woke up on a beautiful island and had an adventure-packed day planned. So all day we were nerds and kept telling each other "happy anniversary" 😂
But seriously, Koh Lipe is ahhhhhmazing. We've been to a handful of Thai islands, but none of them are quite like this. Today we had brunch, took a longtail "taxi" boat to a neighboring island that's a national park and hiked to a viewpoint that took our breaths away (check out our Instagram story!). We went snorkeling on a beach with LITERALLY NOBODY ELSE ON IT. We watched the sunset at a hidden little beach bar with drinks in our hands and ate dinner at a sweet little mom and pop restaurant. So basically it was my perfect day. And how crazy is it that it also happens to be a kind of special day for us too (totally unexpected!)?!
We're super excited to share our stories, photos and tips with you guys!
On the surface, this may look like a typical Thailand beach picture, but it's not. Trust me.
Today we joined in a beach clean up, and had no idea what to expect. Well, our minds were blown when they whisked us off on a longtail boat for an hour long journey to a nearby uninhabited island with one of the most pristine beaches we've ever seen.
As we approached the powdery white sand beach over shallow turquoise waters, I wondered what kind of trash we'd find on this super remote beach. .
Sadly, we found a lot.
Pieces of plastic in all shapes and sizes, straws (of course), discarded water bottles, pieces of rope, a handful of shoes, toys, a partially inflated balloon, a gasoline container, and lots and lots of Styrofoam. And that's just what Ben and I collected. Our group of nearly 50 volunteers packed at least 20 large garbage bags FULL of waste and loaded them in boats to be taken off the island.
Remember, this was an uninhabited island far from mainland Thailand, so the trash was brought here by washing ashore from the sea.
It feels good to collect waste and clean up a beach, yes, but we need to stop it from getting to the beach on the first place.
We like to separate ourselves from the trash we create. Once we throw it in the bin we forget about it and don't think of where it ends up. After what I saw today, I can tell you that some of it ends up on paradise beaches in the middle of the ocean.
I'm not trying to preach, because I too am so guilty of using plastic and creating more waste than I need to. I know I can do better. We all can. #saynotoplastic#plasticisugly#trashhero
Today we made the journey to Koh Lanta, the second stop on our Thai island hopping trip! But instead of heading straight to the beach, we did something a little... different.
Lanta Animal Welfare was established 17 years ago by a Norwegian woman who fell in love with this island and decided to make a home here and take care of the stray dogs and cats. Nearly 2 decades later, this facility takes in and cares for injured animals and neuters strays. When it's not safe to release them back to where they came from, Lanta Animal Welfare actually facilitates adoptions for these rescued dogs & cats -- many of which find their forever home overseas.
When visiting Koh Lanta, you can take a tour of the facility and see the amazing things they're doing with your own eyes! Plus, you can enjoy treats from their Kitty City Cafe and volunteer to walk a dog that need some exercise and love. Like this guy, Tam, who is recovering from a bad wound on his hip, but is a total sweetheart.
If we had a house right now, there would be a couple dogs coming home with us 😍🐶
Relaxing on the beach with a mojito is amazing, but it's also so worthwhile finding inspiring organizations that are doing great things in their community. Have you ever visited a nonprofit or inspiring business on your travels?

Bad News: Our motorbike broke down.
Good News: It was literally the most perfect breakdown scenario we could have asked for. Seriously, you won’t believe our luck...
After a wonderful day of exploring the island of Koh Lanta on our motorbike, we came to a dead end road that marks the very end of the island. We hopped off the bike to get a look at the ocean, but when Ben tried to start the motorbike again the throttle wire snapped. This meant we weren’t going anywhere.
We were literally at the very end of the island — the furthest possible place we could be from our hotel. Thankfully, our bike was parked at a resort and the friendly staff called the motorbike company for us. And while we waited for them to bring us a replacement bike, we enjoyed a drink at the resort’s swim up bar giggling to ourselves that this was literally the best motorbike breakdown in history.
I have a feeling that next time we have a car or motorbike issue like this it won’t involve mojitos and a beach side infinity pool!
Have you ever had a crappy situation turn out to be the best case scenario?!
