Europe is full of hidden gems and I’m here to share with you the most beautiful European villages and towns.
Make sure to add them to your bucket list because each of these destinations is unique.
46. Colmar, France
Colmar is located in the Alsace region, at the border between France and Germany and very close to Switzerland. It’s well known for its fairy-tale-like houses and winding canals. Each house in this town is painted in bright colors, complemented by wooden architectural details.
This pretty European town can be visited in only one day. Don’t expect to find a bustling city, with lots of activities. Colmar is rather relaxed. Walk around the city and explore it !
After a mandala has been created, a mandala ceremony is held where the monks pray and meditate. After the completion of the ceremony, the monks destroy the mandala because of the underlying message, “nothing is permanent.” According to Buddhism, everything is always moving to balance and enlightenment.

Tiles for miles 💙 Porto is famous for its namesake tasty tipple, but the real reason I fell in love with this pretty city is its ~lashings~ of tiles. Almost every building is clad in colourful ceramic, named Azulejos. Here are some of my fave spots to see them:
😍 São Bento Station: every corner of the main ticket hall is covered in epic blue & white storytelling - over 20,000 tiles in total.
😍 Igreja de Carmo [pictured]: this gorgeous chapel is covered in Azulejos which portray religious stories. There are some great brunch spots near here too....!
😍 Ribeira Negral Panel: a little more of a modern spin on the famous mosaics, find this spot by the famous Luiz I bridge.
