Back in the days while I was working in Bangalore, I used to commute to work by the bmtc ac buses. And a lot of people used to say 'Why do you travel by public transport when you earn enough to travel by cabs everyday'. Those ac buses were super comfortable, nice and I used a get a seat as well. So why are we of the opinion that public transport is for the poor?
Fast forward to present day in Germany and I still use public transport to get to work. You see the tram behind me, I travel in one of those to go to work.
One of my favorite things about Europe is its public transport. The punctuality, frequency, cleanliness, connectivity and overall comfort is on another level. And the fares, you buy a day/monthly/yearly ticket and you are sorted. And these public transport systems are available till as late as 2am in my town and run 24 hours in cities like Prague.
And btw did i tell you that my boss travels in the same tram as mine to get to work?
Public transport isn't for the poor. Try using it sometime and contribute less to pollution in the cities.
Ps : I know some developed countries aren't as privileged and still people need to have 'cars' to travel around 😉 well that's another story 😉
