Yesterday was a first for samosas, they were at the United Nations. For a cause close to our hearts, GENDER EQUALITY! We started the day with some amazing fresh brewed Guatemalan coffee from @xquisitecoffee, and little breakfast doughnuts, a sweet carrot cake cake one from @gonepie, and a savory one we made, both gluten-free, and of course, vegan. This was followed by a lunch spread. Roasted butternut cranberry salad, samosas, a roasted tomato channa masala, made just a little bit yummier by @mobiusfields tomatoes, and cumin-scented rice. All topped by a sweet treat, roasted squash almond ladoos. .

My signature MMM Latte has become my favorite morning routine. I love reving up my day with this beautiful cup of antioxidants because it’s anti-aging, combat gum disease, fights inflammation and provides immune support (to name a few).
Chronic inflammation is driver of many chronic disease like diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune disease, tooth decay, gum disease and heart disease. A diet that is #predominantlyplantbased (a diet that prioritizes whole plant food consumption )- provides the body with the proper tools to support healing and health.
As far as dental benefits several studies have shown that turmeric helps with gum inflammation. Studies suggest that turmeric may be a beneficial adjunct therapy for dentists to use in patients who experience gum disease. However, the efficacy of turmeric gels and mouthwash is still not well understood but with few downsides at culinary doses and variety of potential health benefits, I suggest trying to find ways to incorporate turmeric into your daily diet.
1 heaping tsp @matcha_konomi ceremonial grade matcha powder
1/2 tsp @naturevibeusa Maca powder
1/2 tsp @naturevibeusa Moringa powder
1/4 tsp ground turmeric
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Crack fresh black pepper
Boiling water (~ 1/3 cup)
Plant based milk of choice
1-2 tsp sweetener of choice (optional)
Place all powders into a cup. Boil a pot of water. Add about 1/3 cup boiling water to the powder combo and whisk (preferably with a matcha whisk) until completely dissolved. Use your frothier to heat and froth milk (or you can just warm milk- do not boil). Pour warmed milk into cup. Enjoy!

Dimanche encore je sautais dans les vagues près de Barcelone, mais depuis hier, l’automne est bel et bien arrivé ! C’est donc le moment de faire particulièrement attention à ne pas tomber malade ! Je me suis donc remise à la préparation du Curcuma Latte, ou « Golden Milk », qui réchauffe et dont les vertus anti-inflammatoires en font un allié santé.
En voici la recette : mettez à chauffer doucement dans une casserole ¼ de tasse de curcuma, ½ cc de poivre noir, ½ tasse d’eau, 1 cc d’huile de coco, 1 cc de cannelle jusqu’à obtenir une pâte épaisse. Pour préparer votre Curcuma Latte, faites chauffer 150 à 200 ml de lait végétal (je recommande le lait d’amande qui est plus gourmand) et ajoutez une cc de pâte et une cc de miel, sirop d’érable ou agave (si comme moi vous l’aimez légèrement sucré). La pâte se conserve au frigo 1 mois.

It’s that time of the year when my absolutely favorite roots in world are in season! Curcuma Amada or Mango Ginger and Fresh Raw Turmeric is grown and sold all across the Indian Peninsular. The north and the south of Indian pickles it and makes chutneys with it. I’ve grown up eating these rhizomes with lime juice, green chili and salt. It’s the craziest, freshest pickle you would have tasted in your life! Mango Ginger looks just like it’s cousin Ginger, but this root actually smells and tastes like a fruity raw mango! 😛. Its completely irresistible to me and I can eat a bowlful all to myself! Ayurveda regards these roots as almost life giving and healing. Even modern science has found anti cancer properties in these rhizomes. And I’m a sucker for all these seasonal treasures and am determined to play with this magic ingredient! So if you have any creative ideas, I’m all eyes and ears! Hope everyone reading this post in India finds a way to source and munch on these roots this season. Earlier this year I discovered my new fav way to make oats by simply adding in turmeric and a bunch of other spices! 🥣 Not only is it great for you, but it’s simply delicious… especially when paired with sweet fruit! 🍌This recipe is in my cookbook but I’ll be sharing it with you all today so you can can give it a try yourself, enjoy:
👉 FULL RECIPE [Serves: 2 ⠀Time: 15 min]
1️⃣ In a saucepan combine 1 cup quick oats, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your fav plant-based milk), 1 cup water, 2 tsp chia seeds, 2 tsp ground flaxseed meal, 2 tsp hemp seeds, 1 tsp turmeric, a pinch fo black pepper, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp ginger and 1/4 tsp nutmeg.
2️⃣ Cook on medium heat and stir until it thickens to your desired consistency. Turn off the heat and add in a dash of maple syrup to sweeten the oats.
3️⃣ Divide into two bowls and top with fresh fruit, nuts and a dollop of home-made raspberry chia jam if desired (recipe is also in my book) 👌🏼
