Sharing a recent post from Howlong Rsl. Charlie presented there last night.
Charlie Lynn served in the Australian Army for 21 years. He is a Vietnam Veteran, a qualified military free-fall parachutist and a graduate of the Army Command and Staff College.
After leaving the Army Charlie organised the annual Westfield Sydney to Melbourne Ultramarathon, made famous by a 61 year old potato farmer, Cliff Young and ran outback survival programs for mining companies in remote areas of the Kimberley region.
Over the past 28 years he has led 99 treks across the Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea, which means he has trekked a total of 11,880 kilometres with an aggregated climb of more than 600,000 metres.
Charlie was elected to the NSW Parliament in 1995 and served as the Parliamentary Secretary for Veterans Affairs under Premiers' Barry O'Farrell and Mike Baird. He retired in 2015 after almost 20 years service in the Legislative Council.
#throwback to the last weekend when I had a fabulous mini vacation at this surreal place @caboserai
Words fall short to explain the beauty of this place, right from the dirt road that leads to the property, to a short walk along the stream, climbing uphill on a buggy to my cottage, the peace and tranquility that surrounds this place, the mesmerising views of the sea, the sunsets and the nature, the sounds of the lashing waves and chirping of birds, the star lit nights, some amazing food and top notch hospitality.. there couldn’t be a better getaway that I could have asked for.
Take a refreshing swim in this beautiful waterfall while enjoying the green lush surroundings! 🌿 The fresh water coming from the mountains of the Gunung Leuser is perfect for an invigorating moment 💦 Exactly what you need after a trekking day through the Sumatran rainforest!

Control room of reactor 4!
Finally I've done number 1 place in my work experience! It was incredibly interesting and exciting but on the other hand scary. Standing there you try to imagine how it was and what people were doing right there... Very must place for every worker in Chernobyl exclusion zone! Very glad I made it.
