Bumping in today at @hassell_studio 📏
1 day to go until the opening night of INSTIL! We can't wait to exhibit the amazing work from the the UNSW Industrial design graduating class of 2019. If you haven't registered for the event yet the link is in the bio.
Last week Unilevers Colin Dong who is a current Supply Chain Grad within our Future Leader Program ANZ, was invited back to UNSW where Colin undertook his studies to talk about his experience and the advice he would give to current students venturing out into the workforce for the first time. Not to be bias but Colin smashed it out of the park and we can't be happier. Well done Colin and thank you @unswengineering for hosting a great event and the amazing chocolates you presented us at the end of the night 🤩 #uniquelyunilever#employeeappreciation#grads#UFLP#opportunities#UNSW
One of our industrial design graduates @john_walsh__ has designed a surgical gloving system designed to simplify application and decrease the risk of surgical site infections. The system allows theatre staff to apply gloves more efficiently without touching the exterior and risking contamination of the sterile field 👩⚕️
It's only one day until the opening night of Instil!
Instil will be showcasing the UNSW industrial design graduate projects of 2019, you'll be able to see John's work and much more. If you haven't already registered the link is in the bio.
The sun is back! Come and enjoy an amazing UNSW sunset with ELSOC on the Globe Lawn! We'll also be doing an ELSOC BBQ with a twist - we've got burgers with all the trimmings! We'll also have our usual array of cold drinks to make the transition into spring just a bit easier! Join us for a great evening among old friends, and hopefully some new ones too.
Tutor Tip: The interviewer doesn't care about what you've done, but rather what you've learned because of it 💁♂️
Too many people end up trying to blurt out all the things they've done, like they're reading a CV.
You're wasting your time 🙅♂️
It's all about who you are. They'd rather someone who's done one thing, but that one thing allowed them to develop confidence, respect, humility and empathy; than someone who had travelled the world, become a famous researcher, have thousands of hours of volunteering under their belt, but is a rude, boring, arrogant human being.
Here's some advice. They know you're smart. Everyone looks good on paper. Looking a bit better won't help unless they ask you about it and you are able to describe it well. For that see yesterday's tip 😉

Just two days to go!
Here’s my chair, MISURA.
I’ve redesigned the fully adjustable orchestra chair making it lighter, slimmer, more user intuative and a touch more elegant ✨
We encourage industry members to come see the final year honours exhibition with projects from the UNSW Industrial Design graduating class of 2019.

Spent last night at Unthinkable, the event hosted by UNSW at Carriageworks, with @mirandaplustwo and @ra.chel8194. The session with Monica Lewinsky interviewed be Leigh Sales was an illuminating and very disturbing discussion about cyber bullying on a global scale, shame, consent, #metoo but out of that, how to navigate towards a more compassionate internet. An incredibly smart, articulate woman who has had the misfortune of almost having her life destroyed and what she offers us is a unique and considered insight into these issues. How will we help towards making the Internet a better place? #unsw
Week 8: Outdoor Portraiture
This week’s tutorial was aimed at outdoor portraiture presented by none other than Lucy(@lucy_alcorn). She started off by giving a brief background of herself and what she does in the fashion field.
She spoke about the different gears she uses to frame the models and why do they have a bit of uniqueness in them. The location plays an important role in the outdoor photoshoots. She showed us a few examples with each location and the lighting effects involved, along with that the softwares used to edit to get those amazingly beautiful shots. She also discussed a few tips and tricks to help out budding photographers in the field.
Towards the end there was a live demonstration with the model wherein people could try out their hand at portraiture shots and how to optimise the lighting to get the best shot. #unsw#unswphoto#arcunsw

Pork Roll w/ pate, egg mayo, 3 pork, fried onion, carrot, cucumber, shallot, coriander, onion, chilli 🥗🐷🥖 /// finally got around to visiting this place after many people (@j.essbeedee especially🤣) visited and claimed it’s better than my beloved Marrickville pork roll .
The verdict? It’s bloody good. Pretty much on the same level as Marrickville for me. Pate & mayo game was on point and despite having skepticisms about fried dried onions, it just works. Definitely deserves a spot on the recommendations list!

Black Milk Tea w/ Panna Cotta | Fresh Strawberry Latte w/ Panna Cotta 🍓🍼🍮 /// lined up in that gargantuan ass line so ya’ll don’t have to 😭🤣 .
Verdict? It’s good. Very good, but not worth lining up over 2 hours for. The panna cotta is super smooth, milky & soft and the drinks themselves are nice and fragrant .
If the line was reasonable (under 10 minutes), it’d make it into my regular milk tea rotation😋. The black tea with creme brûlée was also very good. It’s not overtly sweet at the regular sugar level but I would get it the notch lower next time :).
Strawberry Watermelon Cake Soft Serve w/ pistachio & rose 🍉🍦🍓 /// I remember back when this used to be a pop-up and only available at events. It’s available at Black Star Pastry Roseberry permanently in case you missed the memo ☺️. Life Hack: eat the soft serve with a slice of watermelon cake, thank me later 😜
