In days gone by all of our gifts would have been hand made. With love in every stitch and a few thoughtful gifts to our nearest and dearest. Nowadays it’s consumerism gone mad and buying gifts for your dog, your cat and someone you work with that you don’t even really know. There’s something meditative about hand stitching, it’s slow and there is nothing for it but to just lose yourself in the moment. I’ve been working on this quilt for months, it’s made with shirting fabric and if you swipe you’ll see there’s an old woollen scratchy blanket in the sandwich. It will be lovely and cosy when into finished.
I still can’t believe at 16 years old I’ve been given this opportunity! I’m so excited to finally reveal my first ever commissioned pieces! I painted these pieces in @wiseowlpaint Smokey Quartz and Prussian Blue, and sealed them with their matte varnish and lavender furniture salve. I’m so happy that I’ve been given this opportunity, and I can’t wait to share new pieces in the future! #wiseowlpaint#clingonbrushes#upcycle#redesign#furnituredesign#furnitureartist

I received my first @thredup#DIYdenim recovery box today, and I’m excited to start researching comps and get them all photographed! I’m hoping this becomes a good way to regularly source (along with thrifting) quality filler for my #poshmarkcloset .
Have you tried this method before? Did you like it, or do you have better, more tried-and-true ways to pad your closet?
It was a very merry oilsquad Christmas: PJ edition! 🤶🏻🤗So sad the day had to end, but it always puts me in the holiday spirit spOILing my tribe. 🥳🙏🏻🥰
The G had to work, but he truly is a lobster of all lobsters, and I am so grateful for him every👏🏼single👏🏼day👏🏼. He got up early to set up the outside lights, brined + spatchcocked a LaMayzing turkey for us (yes there’s a scope for this!), + put finishing touches on an oil holder he made from a beautiful weathered branch Olivia found behind our pond as one of the raffles.
💁🏻♀️We played games (I’ll pop them in my stories), upcycled empty bottles into beautiful Christmas ornaments (every year we do a different craft), sipped my holiday pomegranate punch, spent time catching up and connecting, then before the night ended I gave away tons of prizes, the contents of an entire convention kit, special items that I’ve been saving for today, + we glitter-bombed the place up like we do (if you’re not getting messy you’re not having fun)!
One of my personal mantras you’ve heard me share here before, is that when you give you with always have. I hope you find a way to serve others that fills your cup too.
2019 is winding down, but my gratitude for these people and the 875 others around the world who couldn’t be here today on my doTERRA team, is just warming up. How can I sleep when my heart is all Buddy-The-Elf?🤣👏🏼🥳🤶🏻

Vintage | Leviton Etched Crystal Lamps
Before and after of lamps I fixed up by repainting them.
What a gorgeous day to be home and making a few Christmas goodies. There’s been so little time lately to step back and take a breath - it’s a lovely escape. These little tags are something we do every year - individual and upcycled from last year’s cards, as well as some vintage treasures that we were lucky enough to come across. Great finishing touch to a pressie. Here’s to enjoying your Christmas season, however hectic that may be! ✉️🎄. #christmas#handmade#gifttags#swingtags#christmaswrapping#upcycle#christmasgiving#handmadechristmas
I try hard to be #zerowaste in this business and I often adopt pieces that might otherwise get trashed. (Fortunately my husband is similarly minded and sympathetic to the ever growing piles of clothes needing transformation! ) Rescuing this #80svintage dress from landfill was Friday's mission. If you missed my live story coverage...quick recap...the dress had dye variation on the skirt, so I did something I'd not done before which was splatter and paint bleach on the skirt. Got lots of great advice along the way- thank you. Loving the gold and blue result, so much more contemporary. #revibed and ready to be worn. Next time you're thinking of moving on a damaged piece from your wardrobe either get creative or give me a yell as I am always up for adding to my pile.
We're sending guilt-free holiday packages with the USPS and all-recyclable, plastic-free paper packaging. Read more: https://blog.walnutstudiolo.com/2019/03/28/case-study-ending-single-use-plastics-in-small-business/

Hello! Happy sunday 🌞
This string pouch is one of our new product launched at Semasa last week. These are the last two colors left, anyone want to take them home?
We took some time this Black Friday to reflect on how we acquired many of our building materials.
We try our best to #reuse#upcycle and #thrift when we can... not only during our bus build, but every day.
Here are a few highlights of our #upcycled finds:
- A thrifted tablecloth sewn into all of our white curtains!
- Closet doors we found on the side of the road and cut down to fit. (😍 We were extra excited about this one!)
- A metal sink found at a yard sale for $5.00
- Thrifted (partial) bed frame cut in half to make the sliding dog crate doors
- A retro bed sheet (we already owned) hangs above the bed
- Upcycled fabric, zipper, and mattress pad to make the custom dog crate bedding (sewing skills definitely help with reusing fabric!)
Upcycling keeps items out of the landfill and cuts down on everything it takes to make and purchase new items like manufacturing, transportation, and wasteful packaging. Plus, it's always fun finding a great score!
