Well hello there — remember me 👩🏽👋🏽?!? It’s been a “minute”, I know. But sometimes you gotta just take a month off the IG grid to get reacquainted with your passion, rediscover your bad-assery, and build up the strength and focus to tackle the year’s journey. Not to say I’ve got it all figured out but you know what — “Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.” And with this refreshed mindset, the Universe gives you a 👍🏽 and rewards you with a killer rug find! 😉✨ #HappyNewYearOnMyTimeline
Back from a quick weekend to Québec! 🇨🇦 Traveling is all fun and games until the airline loses your luggage with photography equipment that I kinda sorta needed for this trip. 🙃 We never did get our luggage during our time there and we’re home and STILL don’t have it...but regardless of the circumstances, I can always find something to be grateful for - for a weekend away to be creative, for an awesome job, for amazing and understanding clients, and most of all for a faithful God who was evidently there in the midst of all of it! #sarbnb

Part 2: The Jim Thompson House incorporates six traditional Thai houses. Thompson built his house in 1958-59 on a plot of land across the canal, or klong in Thaï, from the Bahn Krua silk weaving community (he wanted to be close to his workers and their community). For his new home, Thompson acquired several Thai houses some of which were dismantled and sent down the Chao Phraya River to Bangkok where they were reassembled. During the first quarter 1958, Thompson acquired six old teak Houses, from different sources, three coming from Pak Hai in the Ayutthaya region, two found in Bangkok, but the oldest and the most impressive dates from around 1800 and was a weaver’s house from the Cham village of Bahn Krua.
The combination of Thai design and Thompson’s own architectural skills created a unique structure that became his home, a venue where he entertained visitors from Bangkok and around the world and a setting for his unrivaled collection of Asian antiques.

One month into renovation and in a lot of ways it doesn't look like we've done much (but we have!). Everything that needed to be removed from the house has been removed - all the tile, cabinets, appliances, old lights, even the ugly metal baseboard heater covers. We've sanded down the walls in preparation for paint and if you look carefully you'll see we built new heater covers out of wood. This week, we're having the floors refinished and soon we'll start painting.
This is very much the unglamorous "breaking down" stage of renovation - bringing the entire house to a blank slate in order to build it all back up again. It's so much work but honestly so much fun and we wouldn't trade the experience for anything. 10/10 would recommend. #hunterbarnhouse#hunterhouses
