Being parked on my folks drive is great but does mean you can’t go in the house or use their bathroom so that they stay safe. We can however have lots of buckets of hot water which means you can have a luxurious 10 minutes in a pop up shower inside your campervan. Will post a video soon showing how it’s all done. For now this is the USB power shower that we use and a post about how to keep clean in a campervan is up on the blog. For those that don’t have a shower in their van this is a cheap and easy setup. I insulated the walls with 1 inch polyiso foam with spray foam in the gaps I couldn’t fit the board. I covered that with a layer of reflectix to try and create a condensation barrier in the van. The frame for the wall panels was an idea I had and it ended up working perfectly. Stoked on that 🤙🏽 There’s a slight gap between the insulation and frame that I used to hide the cable. Going to finish paneling the left wall today!

The sun is out and the birds are singing at Riverpark Campground in Jonesborough TN today.
This seems like a lifetime ago because it really was a lifetime ago. The ceiling came down on February 15th. Keenan had broken his ankle just a few days prior, but was a serious champ and ground out the sea of rivets holding this thing up despite being pretty seriously hurt.
It's been called the most boring picture ever...but don't let that fool you. This bad boy is the panel that holds all the switches to things like my ceiling lights. Those are military grade switches! 🔥
I recommend not moving into your van until it is completely done. The only way to enjoy this tiny space is if everything is in its place and clean. Otherwise it is very uncomfortable and yr Tripp n over everything. You have to be efficient in all u do to make it work. #vans#vanlifemovement#vandwelling
Great for a van/home workout. This no gym stuff is driving me nuts. Resistant is up 100 pounds. You can do almost any body part. Without heavy weights in the van. Can be tucked out of the way. #vanlifediaries#van#vanlifemovement
If you’ve lived in a Westy before, you’re well aware of what I like to call, the “vanlife shuffle”. Every night, everything stored in the back of the van moves to the front so you can sleep, and every morning it gets moved back so you can drive. Loose items have to be safely put away, the stove top has to be closed, and all the curtains have to be opened again. If you’ve had the chance to pop the top or pull your awning out, close it and roll it up because you’re not going anywhere if you don’t. It doesn’t seem like much, but when it becomes your daily routine, it can get pretty tiresome.
The freedom to move around is why I gravitated towards vanlife, but this tiny metal cube feels so much more like a home when I can set up my front porch and not worry about breaking anything down the next morning. When my passenger seat is off the sliders, you know I’m not going anywhere for a while 💺

A bit out of sequence from the van building stuff but we found some leftover signal orange paint from another project 😂 so we decided to paint the tatty old veedub badge. Goes pretty darn well with the battleship grey, may be some more orange accents happening once we get sorted...
I’m proud to say that’s it’s been 2 years since I started my daily meditation practice. Meditation is something I think everyone should have some form of. I use mediation to control my anxiety and it helps me tap into that desired mindset. I started meditation after a series of events and a massive breakdown...some may call it a spiritual awakening. I could feel a shift in myself and my energy. I was confronted with so many things in my life that I wanted to change. I couldn’t look in mirrors...I was completely and utterly over myself. How did I get to this place? I found myself back in a very low stoke level. So I started mediation🤷🏻♂️. Some days I would sit there for 2 hours I was so determined to learn. My real experience came about a month in, one I will never forget. Now it’s just become apart of my life. Being able to reset and control your bodies chemistry I think is an ultimate goal in life. Really tapping into yourself and being mindful all the time. Focusing on your breath. Flowing not drifting. That’s the ultimate goal in my opinion. If anyone has any practices that they use on a daily I would love to hear 😊 keep those stoke levels up today🤙🏼

Let the good times roll 🍣 🚐 @jjweaver7 and @brittanymazon take the Metris Anacapa for a date night to pick up and eat sushi in the camper. It’s as simple as swiveling the front seat around and positioning the lagun table, now it’s all ready for a dinner date.
There ya have it...the last essential project in the van. We have a bed for sleeping, water storage, solar power, a working sink and shower, refrigerator/freezer and a stove/oven. Our home is ready for us to live in it. 🏠 🚐👫🐈🐕🐕 *UPDATE* I forgot, we are almost done with a makeshift toilet we will use temporarily until we can afford a real composting one. Open to ideas and suggestions!

We get a lot of questions on how we stay clean when we are dispersed in nature.
Well, we have a shower off the back of our van with hot water on demand so we can shower or give small fry a bath.
Today is my 1 year anniversary of moving into #aVanNamedReaux as a full-time #vanlifer . The view from today's #covid19 quarantine location reminds me that no matter how crazy the world is outside, I made the right decision to abandon a life that was no longer serving me, to take time to continue recovering from a life-changing trauma, and run towards a life of freedom. Funny thing is, this life of freedom may be a life full of uncertainty in where you might sleep each night, but it is also a life full of certainty that only YOU know what is best for YOU. Every day I am required to truly listen to my gut and make a million little decisions that fullfill my basic needs and to keep myself safe as a #solofemaletraveler .The only thing constant in life is change, right? Jump in. Even if you are stuck in your house and aren't able to take your home with you like I can, that doesn't mean that you stop dreaming, planning, and creating the life you want. You simply have a little more time now to focus and discover what truly makes you happy. Be specific and start taking action- no matter how small. "A DREAM is a wish your heart makes." A GOAL is a dream with a detailed plan for execution; so start writing 📝. #NeverLetYourFearDesignYourFuture#quarantinewithaview

And here is one more 6AM amazing sky view. You can see the tiny moon.Waking up and exiting your warm sleeping bag and inhaling that cold air, is like exiting your moms warm insides and breathing for the first time.
Clean home, clear mind.
I find that when I stay in one spot for a long time, my home gets messy. Without the need to secure everything to drive, I allow myself to accumulate little piles of belongings that get shuffled from spot to spot.
I can deal with some small piles of clutter here and there for a few days but at some point I snap and have to put everything back in its proper place.
