💊 TERAPIE A DOMICILIO 💉 🐱 TAGLIO UNGHIE 🐶
Ebbene, in alcuni casi è proprio necessario! ⚠️
☑️ #petsitter#pet#petsitting#cat#catsitter#dog#dogsitter#vettech#vetnurse

Interview series #3
Things I WISH I was told before my vet school interview:
1️⃣ Take the chance and stay with a current veterinary student for the school you’re interviewing at! They will be able to show you around and tell you about their school and make the experience that much more inviting.
2️⃣ There will be “those” type of students who brag about their experiences or how many interviews/acceptances they have...my advice is to politely smile, nod, and change the subject. Don’t let them make you feel any less confident and DONT engage in the competition...you never know who’s listening. 🤫
3️⃣ The day is LONG. It’s not just the interview. Schools almost always incorporate additional presentations and panels along with a tour of their school so bring snacks in case you tend to get hangry (like me 😂) and ladies remember to bring another pair of shoes to switch your heels out!
4️⃣ Be prepared for the unexpected! Sometimes you may get lost, you spill something on your blouse, etc. just stay calm! I remember my tights beginning to rip DURING my interview and I just had to go with it and focus. No one remembers the small things besides you!
This is likely the last step between you end your dream so above all-have FUN and RELAX! What do you wish someone told you on your interview day? 👇🏾
📱 Social media has connected me with some fabulous people in the veterinary field.
💫 And it is always fun meet them for the first time in real life.
💯 But I am not sure if gets more amazing when this veterinarian from New York gets to meet 2 incredible vets in Australia!
🇦🇺 When I found out I was coming to Australia and had my first day free in Brisbane before my work starts, I messaged @dralexhynes . I honestly had no idea where in Australia she lives, practices and is on a TV show too. Not only does she live in Brisbane, she and @drgerardopoli made time in their busy lives to come and meet me in the city.
🤩 And they were more amazing in person. Even though I am jet lagged from 24 hours of travels, these 2 had me so excited, inspired and energized. These 2 rock!
⭐️ If you are not following them, you should be IMO. I’ll admit, it might not be as good as meeting them in person for lunch along the Brisbane River in Australia, but I am pretty sure you won’t be disappointed.
Unfortunately, many savannah cats are bought as pets to rehabilitation centres due to their 'cats' being too much, as these cats are not suitable as household cats! They are a hybrid cat, a cross between a serval and a domestic cat. This breed is illegal in South Africa as the Serval is indigenous!
Depending on how they are brought up, they can be very friendly, like the one from Moholoholo, Aurora, who absolutely loved human attention, but who had a tendency to spray on people and could vet too excitable! We were able to spend extra time in with Aurora, which was lovely! Her diet consisted of chicks which had to be cut into halves, however, she would only ever eat the heads!

It’s time! I’ve been working like crazy the last couple of months - I posted my schedule so show that sometimes you just have to work knowing a break is coming and being an owner does not make you an exception. I have felt like I haven’t been at home much lately but now I’m in the airport on the way to England to see some family and meet my mom who flew over earlier this month. Now I can relax knowing I did a good job and worked hard! It’s a nice feeling! OH and my water bottle was a huge hit with security LMAO they handed it around to everyone!!!!!

Kto właściwie płaci za leczenie bezpańskich zwierząt? 🤔
Happy Monday! ✨
So.. last week I was on annual leave for the first time in what felt like forever. It had been over a year since I had my first proper break from working full time and boy, did I need it! 😩
I started to feel super worn out, irritable, unmotivated and making silly mistakes. All these boil down to just needing a break from your normal routine.. it really does get on top of us! ☹️
Now, I know we can’t go swanning off on holidays every week, so what can we do to help keep ourselves feeling refreshed and ready with each day or week? 🤔
It all depends on what you like to do as a person. For some people self care may be going for a 5 mile walk.. for others it may be laying on the sofa in their PJs and watching their favourite film. Whatever makes YOU feel good, do it! ❤️
Learn to take some time out for yourself too. When was the last time you scheduled some ‘me’ time into your plans? I couldn’t remember when I last sat down and told myself to relax for a day and when I say relax, I mean relax. Not reading any study books or creating content for instagram.. fully disengage from life and just be at one with yourself! It’s quite hard to do actually! 😬

Through this page, I am lucky to meet the most amazing animals and people! 🙌🏻 This boy is Ice Cube - and his story is sure to amaze you all too.
Ice Cube was found last January abandoned and freezing to death in the snow 😢 Luckily, his finder knew exactly what to do and rushed him straight to the veterinary practice where she worked! Poor Ice Cube had suffered severe frostbite injuries to his paws and tail. His dedicated finder, now owner (and saviour!) provided him constant care, medical treatment and plenty of pain relief. His paws and tail had begun to die away, leaving him with little stumps. But that hasn’t stopped him! His mum says he is full of life and love, which you can see from his photos. Such dedication to saving this boy and ensuring he received proper care and treatment is admired and something we should all strive for. All I can say is, thank goodness Ice Cube was found by such a wonderful person!
Follow Ice Cube on Instagram @ice_cube_the_rescued_rat , he really is the strongest, most adorable boy with such a loving and caring mummy! 💛 I LOVE hearing about your amazing medical/surgical stories and breakthroughs with rodents in your care, please feel free to message my page if you would like to be featured too! 💛
You know you're still going through the eager new grad phase when you volunteer on your night off to help with an emergency gastrotomy (= surgery to open the stomach) to remove a fish hook from a dog.
No regrets... even after scooping out soggy kibble and grass with a spoon at 10pm. My idea of a fun night out! 🎣

Someone did this hedgehog a frighten and she rolled into a ball and got caught in her towel. Result: bad hedgepig hair day! The nurses had to try and comb all the fluff out of her spikes. 🦔 #hedgy#badhairday#hogcident#regrets

This case completely blew me away today! A Monarch butterfly was found badly injured with the most part of two of its wings missing, most likely from a bird attack. Amazingly, someone collected the insect and took it into the @twrcwildlifecenter where a dedicated member of staff took it home to attempt a wound repair. With a bit of creativity and innovation, the wings were reconstructed by cementing on some advertising card and some extra monarch wings (is it just me, or is this an amazing thing to just have lying around!?) and after assessing that the animal could fly, it was placed outside in a sunny spot to warm up. These insects can’t fly in temperatures below 13 degrees Celsius (55F), but it must have already been warm enough because before she could get her camera, it fluttered away before her eyes!
What an amazing job, and it just goes to show that from elephants to butterflies, no patient is too big or small in the veterinary world! It also has to take the cake for the most unusual animal I’ve seen operated (“operated”?) on! What about you!?
#tbt to cuddles with @bambam_instalamb ❤️ Bam bam is so full of personality and affection, it’s remarkable how unique every sheep it 😍 Sheep have an undeserved reputation for poor intelligence. They build friendships with fellow flock members, remembering up to 50 new sheep faces for over 2 years, more than many people can! They mourn he loss of friends, jump for joy when happy and will defend their friends when being bullied by others in the flock ❤️
