The first guests who came to Vangsgaarden were fishers who wanted to explore the well-known Aurland River.
The river had abundant trout and salmon. This tempted many well-off Englishmen and lords. 🇳🇴

Hi, I am Mal and I am a photographer - @aurlandphotography - living and working here in Fjord Norway and I’ll be taking over the @fjordnorway feed for the next 2 days. My first post is from Aurland, showing the beauty of the fjord and mountains here in autumn. It can be a colourful and peaceful time. It’s less busy, more relaxed if you explore. You can sometimes have the place to yourself. I like that. 😄 But though beautiful, life here is not so easy. Ask the farmers, the road workers, the electric power engineers, the boat crew. The people who live here are resilient, resourceful and hard working. Take time to get to know them and you’ll really get under the skin of Fjord Norway.😍 Photo 1: Skjerdal, Photo 2: Aurlandsfjord, Photo 3: Aurlandsfjellet #fjordnorway#visitnorway#aurland#visitflam#aurlandsfjord#sognefjord
