Setting up to capture the storm and just before hitting record I was caught in probably the most intense wind and rain I have ever witnessed! Tropical downpours have nothing on what happened at Bondi for about 2 minutes. I even lost my hat. Had to hide behind a metal bin to shield from the rain and wind. If it got any worse I wouldn’t have known what to do, as the wind was strong enough to push you over! Now the intensity has passed Its time for round 2! Let’s see what we can capture..
17: for this #40daysofSelf , I have been reading books by friends. To reconnect to their voices, their wisdom. To take the time to hear them.
I spend hours and hours reading dead people or “traditional” lit of complicated authors that may be great storytellers, but as people, I don’t really know. Why not enjoy living lit from people who love and nourish me and honor their wisdom with a close read?
I am reading #letterstoblackparentsvisitingearth by @janetstickmon being inspired about how to raise my goddaughter, my self, my community. A book, at first, I didn’t know what to expect, and realize perfect time, perfect book. Her book reminded me the necessity of why we all need to take space with our narratives, our language, our memories, our chisme. I am wrting poems on all my books these days, and this is one I wrote inspired by Janet who always inspires me.
Get this book people, if for nothing else, to hear this necessary voice. It will irritate, soothe, and spark. This is not a paid endorsement, more of poetic testimonial. #40daysofself#book#nourishmentnotjustfood#blackparents#earth#visitingplanetearth#love#onethirdonethirdonethird#defendyourchildren#friends
The closest and primary star, named “Sun” by earth dwellers, produces sunspots al the time. Here in the first image we captured two sunspots. What exactly are sunspots, some of you are wondering? They are ‘cooler’ regions of the surface of the sun and are caused by concentrations of magnetic field flux that stop the hotter parts below from reaching the surface. It’s like a magnetic field muscle cramp..kinda. 😎 ☀️ #sunspots#sun#solar#star#science#spacescience#life#visitingplanetearth
