You had me at shabu-shabu 😝
= = = = = =
I’ve only ever had chinese hotpot so I was so excited to try some beef shabu-shabu in Japan. However after reading some information online this dish seems to be sukiyaki (some minor differences between the two).
Regardless I loved this entrée, which was part of our 10 course kaiseki dinner. There were different varieties of veggies, udon, and thinly sliced wagyu beef. Traditionally the beef is dipped into a raw egg which offsets the sweet and salty broth. The beef was soooooo tender and delicious!
I usually like to undercook my meat but this was course 7 and by that time we were stuffed and I had to take a breather. Wait until you see the rest of the meal 🤤
