The power of nature is immense and at times it can be unleashed upon us in ways that's almost unimaginable. So, it’s natural for fear to soon follow in the footsteps when nature showcases that fury. When one experiences such events, the energy within the environment seems to get absorbed into your body. Your senses heighten, your body buzzes and you're ultra-aware of everything that surrounds you. You hear the autumn grass rustle. You feel the coldness of your camera in your hands. You smell the damp air. You see the light and the shadow working in harmony. You hear yourself think. Thinking about the depth of life and all that it holds, all that it offers. And then that fear follows and takes grip and makes you want to leave. Find shelter. Find safety.
I’m not really sure why I didn’t run and find that safety. Instead, I maintained my presence within nature and proceeded through the fear. It was partially because I think I was just grateful. Grateful for all the many different parts of mother nature, even when it unleashes its fury. It was also partially because it was an overcast and sort of a blah type of day before that. I had already mentally adjusted my mindset to just being in Yosemite and enjoying the moments that happened around me. And not necessarily worrying about capturing any portfolio type imagery. So, when the weather turned from blah to … oh my goodness, are you serious … I was excited and I went towards the fury and began clicking away.
Thanks for looking and listening …

If anyone has suggestions for future videos let me know! I’m always willing to take ideas!
This golden hour shot makes me want to start singing, “country roaaaads.. take me home.” 🎶 also, fun fact: I have Siri set as a British fella bc, why not? And he’s been telling me that daylight savings ends this Sunday but turns out that’s in Europe..in America it’s not until the 3rd. So I hope you all get some little thing that brightens your day like that. 🌞 #smallwins
2019 has been a year of growth with all aspects of life. Crazy amounts of challenges and setbacks that always leads me to learn a new lesson. I’m just starting to see the amount of change and growth that’s been implemented into my life with new challenges always coming up.
I’ve also began to realize how optimistic of a person I am, between a failed hard drive with over 2TB of work on it and recently having to miss out on fun travel for work or with friends due to anxiety, we are always where we are supposed to be and these lessons help us grow into our true selves.
We live and we learn. Also, this photo describes what i've been feeling lately + i miss the west coast more and more everyday 🤙🏼
One of my FAVORITE things as photographer is watching people get more and more comfortable in front of the camera as the shoot goes on. Alex has the sweetest soul and I loved getting to know her during this shoot. Definitely connected SO PERFECTLY. I work with the greatest people🥰
Here’s a collection of WTC shots from a walkabout in 2016. Happy @dalton922 🤷🏻♂️ Love ya pal🥰😘

“After riding out so many ups and downs, it’s strengthened me to deal with the bad times, but it also sobered me to know better than to believe that a good time will last. Everything in life is transient.”
