A gift of the Himalayas to the world, Manali is a beautiful township nested in the picturesque Beas River Valley and also nested in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh. Mountains are snow capped and the view is very calming and beautiful.
Manali is named after the Sanatan Hindu God - Manu. The name manali is regarded as the derivative of "Manu Alaya" which means "The Adobe of Manu".
Freedom is 🇺🇸 Ironic talking about freedom when we’re locked in our house in quarantine for another week 😅
Wishing everyone a safe, joyful Fourth of July. May we never forget where we came from and that freedom isn’t free.
Joshua Tree without the Joshua Trees. This was the hike to Barker Dam, one of the most incredibly beautiful places in the National Park. It’s a short, easy hike cutting through the huge, smooth boulders and plants. Don’t ever take a National Park at face value. Go deeper.
Funny enough, the distinctive sights and sounds of Joshua Tree are only part of the experience. It’s the hot sun baking you. It’s the winds blowing the desert dust. It’s the cactus blossoms and sweet breeze. It’s the open meadows between the mountains. Just a reminder, we are giving away a $15.00 USD gift certificate to @californiahandcrafted which makes a Joshua Tree scented candle! And Palm Springs, and Big Bear and Laguna Beach and Napa Valley and other scents captured in their all natural soy candles. Find our posting from June 30th for the giveaway, comment #WGW_giveaway before midnight PST July 4, and drawing will be held on July 5.
A yak grazes in the lush green pastures of the Wakhan territory in Afghanistan. The rugged yet scenic landscape shows us the other side of Afghanistan, long portrayed as a war ravaged country. The Wakhan province consists of the ethnic Wakhi and Pamiri tribes. The area is so remote that the natives are oblivious of the war happening elsewhere in the country.

The green landscape of the terrace rice fields of Mu Cang Chai, Vietnam. The Mu Cang Chai terraced landscape is representative of a living culture’s harmonious interaction with nature. With great ingenuity, the indigenous culture has transformed the mountain’s harsh natural conditions. Despite unpropitious circumstances, local farmers applied scientific knowledge together with spiritual beliefs and rituals to maximize the annual harvest.

The Toliman, Atitlan and San Pedro volcanoes form the backdrop for the pristine Lake Atitlán in the Guatemala Highlands. All three of them have been active stratovolcanoes and have erupted frequently in the past. The village of San Pedro La Laguna is located at the base of the San Pedro volcano on the southwest shore of the lake.

One of the many covered bridges in Vermont, USA. A 'peak foliage' season where the leaves are at their riotous and vibrant best forms a magical backdrop.
Porteu força aigua si hi aneu a l’estiu, us farà falta!
