Do you have a place that you consider your second home?⠀
I happen to have three homes and believe me, it makes things very complicated sometimes. But it feels so special that I can hop on a plane whenever I want (well obviously not now, thanks corona) and be in this beautiful land of sun, palm trees and best seafood in just 3 quick hours. Also, this picture gives me some major Miami vibes!

𝐄𝐧: Surely you already know La Visma from previous posts.
The reason why I talk about this character so much here is because La Visma is really one of the great treasures of this place. I can sincerely tell you that she is the best housekeeper in Santa Clara: she not only cares about Amarillo B&B always standing well in the comments of the guests, but sincerely cares about the guests.
If you travel with children, she turns into that wonderful thing of being a mother of three 😱, if you travel alone, always find a compliment to tell you how beautiful looks your make up or how beautiful you look with that outfit.
If you're a man, she'll even worry about washing those dirty sneakers. Isn't that true @chadhahne 😏?
You will love this wonderful human being with whom life has rewarded us.
If you want to meet this authentic Cuban woman, choose the listing you like more in our link to Airbnb in the bio.

Today my reflections brought me back to a quote from a book I read a few years ago, A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara🤍 ⠀
It contains some of the most heart wrenching, achingly beautiful writing I’ve ever read. I wrote down many quotes from the book, but today I was thinking of this one:⠀
“it was a larger sadness, one that seemed to encompass all the poor striving people, the billions he didn't know, all living their lives, a sadness that mingled with a wonder and awe at how hard humans everywhere tried to live, even when their days were so very difficult, even when their circumstances were so wretched. Life is so sad, he would think in those moments. It's so sad, and yet we all do it. We all cling to it; we all search for something to give us solace.”⠀
Sometimes I feel paralyzed with this same sadness; buried under the weight of all the horrors in the world—of the people I know and those I don’t. I’ve always been ultra-empathetic, to the point where I’ve found it to be a burden a lot of the time. I feel too much. ⠀
Over the years, I’ve tried to embrace this as a positive quality; as a way to better connect with friends, a way to write more believable characters. But when it comes to the horrors of humanity, it can feel crushing. ⠀
How can we undo so much suffering? How can we help alleviate some of the pain of the world? Sometimes this overwhelming feeling of sadness does me no good, as it doesn’t motivate me to create change. How do we feel for others but also get the courage to take a stand and demand change?
Happy Birthday to me!
