Did you know that the City of Cambridge is the Republic of Gilead in @handmaidsonhulu? 😲 Locations such as the Main Street bridge pictured above, the river walk by Mill Street Park, the market building, and the city hall council chambers were used for filming 🎥

‘Your solitude will be a support and a home for you, even in the midst of unfamiliar circumstances, and from it you will find all your paths’
How comfortable are you in your own skin, regardless of where you are or where you aren’t, who you’re with or who you’re without? Is the path you walk truly your own?
There is no wrong answer, so long as you’re paying attention. .
This particular path was found on a whim, while searching in the direction of Ireland’s only fjord. The mists were thick that day and only grew heavier as I progressed. The path that led me to the coast was ultimately more impactful and magic filled to my eyes than the beautiful, quiet and serene harbor of Killary Fjord, though none the more valued.
If you looked up while in the King’s Bedchamber at Stirling Castle, you would see an intricate ceiling decorated with a series of carved portraits. Originally decorated with oak portrait roundels known as the Stirling Heads.

This is your reminder to slooooow down and enjoy the Christmas season 💕
Who else agrees that Christmas flies by before we know it?! The last few years I’ve been making an effort to be in the moment and try and enjoy the season more leading up to the big day. It’s easy to get caught up in buying presents and work craziness as the year ends, but here’s some ways to slow time and enjoy the season more ☺️
✨ Take the long way home. There are so many stunning Christmas lights scattered through downtown. Start at Majors Hill Park, make your way to Confederation Park, catch the light show on Parliament, then walk down @sparks_street . More details + your guide to Xmas lights in the capital on the blog ☺️
✨ Check our some stunning Christmas trees. We have some pretty spectacular ones in the capital that amaze me every time I see them. Head to @natgallerycan on Thursdays from 5-8pm for free admission and check out their stunning tree in the main hall. I have a full blog post just on xmas trees in the capital 🎄
✨ Meet friends for a festive drink! We have two Christmas pop-up bars in Ottawa this season that originated in NYC! @sippinsantaottawa is at @standardluxurytavern on @idigelgin and Miracle is at @savoybrasserie. Spots like @idigelgin also have lots of festive drinks at their coffee shops! Head into @nac.cna and enjoy a hot drink and see their decorations. This is also a good spot to warm up after seeing the Xmas lights or see a Christmas show
✨ When it comes to buying presents, buying local allows you to get them something unique and is also a fun experience to pick it out from a local
shop ☺️ Experiences are one of my favourite things to gift because it’s something you can enjoy together at a later date! Gift guides for both on littlemissottawa.com
✨Festive fun 🎅 From @ottawa.xmas.market to Christmas themed day trips (link in bio), there are so many great spots to celebrate the season 😍
I hope this helps you take some time out to celebrate the season ✨🎄 Which activity are you most excited for?
