Reminiscing on a quiet day with my other half. ***Giveaway winner announcement*** @saragarrisontalent was the winner! And she's such an on-top-of-things badass that we already knocked out her free shoot this morning! I'll post a teaser in my story shortly.
A LITTLE EFFORT GOES A LONG WAY
(SAVE for Tips and Exact Location)
Rebecca has this knack for discovering all the juicy, more undiscovered locations when we're travelling 🤗
And what blows me away is that the places are gorgeous, and yet completely empty of tourists.😍
So, let's use this waterfall as an example. I began to ponder why this is so. 🤔
Well there is about a billion steps down to the waterfall itself (well, not a billion but it's a fair few) and it's a little steep in some parts, but nothing that i'd say was any more challenging then I'd seen at other more populated places. 😄
So maybe it's the ascent that puts others off? Did we nearly die in the heat clambering back to the top? Yeah for sure, but I wouldn't say it wasn't worth the effort - and this is what is is all about. Put in the effort in life and reap the rewards. 😀
- Travel Tips :
- The cost per person is 20,000 Rupiah, which is ridiculously cheap.
- As mentioned, the descent / ascent in the heat can be a little bit tough, so keep hydrated. But it's well paved, I did it in jandals so it can be done in most footwear.
- The rocks at the waterfall is incredibly slippery, so be careful. I nearly slipped.

Rainbow falls is located just outside Cherrapunjee which, on and off, holds the record as the wettest place on earth (it changes year to year between a bunch of small villages in the same region here in the NE part of India) with over 11m/464in of rainfall every year. What this means is there are gorgeous waterfalls springing out of lush green vegetation all over the place! Needless to say, I’m sold and have already decided if I someday move to India, it’s to Lower Cherrapunji.
This particular waterfall was about a four hour hike going up and down somewhere around 4000 stairs. My calves cramped up hardcore towards the end, but I made it and loved it!
Devil’s Den Falls is located on the Chinnabee Silent Trail in the Talledega National Forest located on Lineville, Alabama. Getting to the falls is a short 0.6 miles trip if you begin your journey at the Chinnabee Recreation Area. When you park, head upstream on the Chinnabee Silent Trail until you reach the falls. The hike is fairly easy except the very end getting down to the falls. Right before you reach the falls you will cross over a bridge and the falls will be to your right. This area is a very popular swimming hole in the summer months, offering a unique setting in which to cool off during the hottest months. 🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷

This was so worth the trip💦 I realized last year I only went to two waterfalls! I definitely need to change that & start exploring some more. I had made a New Years resolution to start exploring out of state more, So far Utah has been covered & next is Arizona possibly.
