Run for the Hills? 🥵
Ran- Run for the Grapes Half-Marathon this morning. Thought it was supposed to be a flat course but it was anything but the first half or so of the race (who knew that vineyards weren’t flat). Between the hills and the heat (30 degrees c at the start time), it made for a tough day on the course. 🥴
Goal going into the race was to hopefully run a 1:25 but adjusted the plan before the race because it was just too hot out. I ended up just running an hour of marathon pace tempo and then just brought it home to the finish line. Ran a 1:35 today, good enough for 17th and 1st in my age group. 🏅
Though the time wasn’t what I wanted or a huge confidence booster going into my marathon, it was still an awesome day on the course and found a few positives during the race. Also anytime I get to get together with this group of people, it makes for an great day of running and laughter no matter what. Great to see @email@example.com@runtanyarun and of course @jeph.runs.wincity today🙌
It’s pretty much time to start the taper and gear up for @chimarathon in 21 days. Looking forward to getting that first major marathon star ⭐️🇺🇸
throwback to my last run on Thursday night, where I tagged along with @kmat714 for a quick 2.5 miles⚡️
Yeah I took the weekend off from running. And no, I won’t beat myself up for it. I drove up to Mystic, CT, for a girls’ weekend with my best friend and other half, @1stexpressions, and while I packed my running gear, I never used it. We haven’t had time to ourselves like this in years and it was 200% worth it to skip a few runs for more one-on-one time. #sorrynotsorry
I can go on another run tomorrow, but I won’t get another perfect weekend like this for a long time 🐋🐠🍷💖

Best. Race. Ever! I am so happy I ran the Piper’s Promise. All proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House and Riley’s Army!! My pace was the same as last time I ran this race, which makes me really proud because it was hot!!

Meia Maratona do Porto ✅
G🌎🌎D Morning world and Happy Friday!😁
Oh no! We are not on Friday yet !🤦🏻♀️🤪😅
I have the feeling this week is lasting for ever. Cannot wait to start the racing weekend and to enjoy the time with my family 😊 Any plans for this weekend?
This was one of those long runs that I really had to work for. Was scheduled for 18 kms today, but around the 8 km mark my right hip started to tighten up and continued to bother me for the rest of the run. I had to slow down quite a bit for the second half and decided to cut it short at 16 km rather than push it too hard. Can’t risk injuring myself this close to race day!

5 easy with strides. I was running extra easy and happy with my HR. The only times my HR got a bit high was when I was dreaming about a half marathon PR 😆 It is not my primary goal but it is not impossible.
Some days your long runs leave you feeling like a bad ass and like you just want to smile from ear to ear while wearing your @lululemon tutu and skipping across the trail! That’s how I feel now! 😜 Today was a hard one, but it’s the hard ones that leave me feeling the best after it’s over! 17 miles with 10 miles of hill repeats, not so fun on paper but it was actually a great workout and I’m SO glad it’s over! 🎉 ***No, I did not wear this tutu on my run today, but honestly I really should wear it everyday cause it’s the funnest ever! 💕 📷: @raineey14

The long run is what puts the tiger in the cat. —Bill Squires
Another long run down. 💪🏼🐯 This time of year gets me thinking about all of those cross country seasons and races. During today’s run, I bumped into one of my best friends walking her dog on this path. I really enjoy when instances like that happen. ☺️
This morning's breakfast after our run today got me like 😍😋🤪 Zach, our instagramless friend Kyle, and I ran a 1.6 mile loop of hills at Jefferson Barracks Park - twice. Fuck the hills lol but that run was so awesome. Felt good to run hard, and finish strong. Sometimes I get stuck in the same routine, and because of that, I am grateful that I got out of my comfort zone and ran somewhere new this morning. 3.2 miles done today and I'm ready for the next run. See y'all Tuesday. 🏃🏼♀️ #sundayrunday#runningforthewedding#isagenixrecovery
I’m starting a run crew called Boy IT Band. Today was the test run.
32 kilometres (20 miles) that started with my buddy, and neighbour, @aaronbold24 (on my right). We heading down to the lake to meetup with @jake_myles. Jake reached out to me on Instagram and asked if he could join me on a long run. Had so much fun running with these guys today!
4 weeks to KC!
This is around 2km long with approximately an 800metre drop either side of me.
The rocks are loose and move as you make your way across. You really are at the mercy of your wits and intuition.
Skyline racing is 100% not for a novice mountain runner. You need to know how to read a route through these trails. One bad decision and your gone.... also comfortable with heights!
Around 1.6km across on a 3m section around 2ft wide I found a man laid flat having a full panic attack. He couldn’t figure out how to get off the mountain. His only way off the mountain was to go up it. It took me about 20minutes, the majority of my food, water and patience to get him moving again. He dropped out at the first marshal.
What do you think?
Would you race along this?
Beautiful isn’t it?

Touchdown...Singapore! First leg of my world trip. Completely unflattering photo but I have so much to say about today that I just needed to post SOMETHING...
First off, got a new phone...but my fitness editing app doesn’t work on the new phone anymore 😡😡😡. Had to download a new app and as you can probably tell I’m having a TON of issues editing my photos to show I ran NO MILES. It’s also not Monday...but the app defaulted to Monday since it’s technically Monday right now (great...). Overall though, I’m pretty excited to explore portrait mode on this phone...
Had a small cup of black coffee today and wow it was powerful. I’ve probably been drinking really bad coffee at home LOL. I also had a ton of jetlag today. Took a three hour nap in the middle of the day and now I’m just wide awake which is just...great. Kinda thought I’d get a hang of this whole jetlag thing by now but NAH. I’m blabbering a lot about non running related issues but I’m also using these posts as a travel diary too so just a heads up to everyone...
It took awhile for me to nap. It was only when I realized I needed to turn the AC off for me to feel comfortable napping...which is strange since it’s like 86 degrees out with 76% humidity LOL. I actually woke up sweating and didn’t care because I felt comfy sleeping in the heat (weird)...
And lastly, best part about today was going back to Toast Box.

Sad & bummed this morning’s marathon/half marathon was cancelled, but it was for the best reasons. When I arrived near the starting line, it was miserable. Lightning lit up the still-dark sky and pouring rain aggressively pattered the ground. A sense of relief came over me when we were told to bail.
I was looking forward to running this morning, but there will always be more opportunities. I will say that having a fight/bout cancelled hurts way more than a race does. This will only allow me to come back even stronger in the 13.1 mile distance; next I’ll be heading to Joshua Tree National Park in California to take on a challenging half marathon course there on November 2 with one of my best friends && I’m stoked!
Thank you all for your love and support during training and leading up to this event this morning! I’ll be continuing to motivate & train to become a better, faster, stronger version of myself every day. Onto the next! 🙌🏽💪🏽
Happy Saturday!! My day is crazy with sports..BUT, I slept in until 7a! That’s late for me & it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to do that. I feel like a new women. It’s amazing what a few extra hours of sleep can do for ya!
An easy 8 miles today with a big long run on deck for tomorrow! Long run day is my favorite. Hoping these legs are ready to run fast🏃🏻♀️ Pizza for dinner should do the trick!👌🏽🍕
What is your pre-long run meal of choice? I swear by pizza! It works perfectly for me.
Happy Weekend, Friends!!
I did it!! ⠀
I can barely walk today, but I did it...26.2 freaking miles 😳🙌🏻👏🏻⠀
I’m so proud of myself - this is something I never thought I would do and it was super hard, those last six miles were brutal. ⠀
Mad props to you runners that do this all the time. ❤️🙌🏻⠀
Any ideas on how to pamper these sore muscles 🤷🏼♀️😏⠀
