A few weeks ago I did DC solo.
I have been wanting to take my kids here for years and as luck would have it, I got the chance to go ... by myself.
It was awesome 😎
I grew up being kept very ... 🤔 “safe”
And while I’m thankful to my mama for loving me so much...I definitely feel like I missed out a little.
The world can be a scary place.
It can also be beautiful, magical, breathtaking and full of love... #funsizedtravels#solowander

@80sdisneyprince Everytime I skate this wooden path, I’m amazed that it’s even possible.
To be able to cruise on the mountain with skateboard, and enjoy the amazing views that comes with it.
KEEN teamed up with @SherpaAdventureGear to develop a new hiking boot for men and women—the Innate Sherpa leather hiking boot is made with environmentally preferred leather and features an endless knot that honors Sherpa climbers.
Earlier this year KEEN Europe Ambassador @jasperdoest joined Sherpa Adventure Gear on a trip to Nepal to see their project in action. For every pair of the KEEN Innate Sherpa hiking boot sold, KEEN will donate a portion of the proceeds to Room to Read. “Can you read this? If so, you can count yourself lucky.
The ability to read and write is easily taken for granted. It is something many of us learn at a very young age and use throughout the rest of our lives. Think of all the information you gather through reading. I’m not only talking about when we deliberately decide to read a book, newspaper, or one of the many text messages on your cell phone. I’m also talking about all the information we unintentionally pick up through reading.
I didn’t really think of this until my oldest daughter was diagnosed as being dyslexic, a learning disability that is characterized by difficulties with accurate and/or fluent word recognition and by poor spelling and decoding abilities. She will have to deal with this the rest of her life, but she’s lucky that she lives in a country with a proper education system. But what about Sona, Kamal and Samita, children I recently met in Nepal? They might not be dyslexic but they never learned how to read as Nepal’s education system still has a long way to go.
Almost half of the country’s adults are illiterate and roughly 40 percent of the students drop out before graduating from primary school for a variety of different reasons. This is why Room to Read seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, they develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children to help enable them reach t
Amazing close encounter with the Nara deers! Wanted to have nice pics while feeding the deers BUT the moment you bring out the cookies, they will start running towards you! Was so stressed I just threw all the cookies (see video HAHA). I also panicked when I saw the deer with the big horn coming nearer, hence my reaction & unflattering photos while feeding them 🤣 We were also amazed by how they learned to take a bow! 🦌
On the trek but soaked wet. Hornstrandir the incredible green wilderness of Iceland. Arriving there after a terrible and wavy three hour boat ride, it felt like we were part of something special. Probably it was just the incredible calm and wilderness I‘ve never felt deeper before. The tree trunks you see on these pictures are originally from Siberia and floated around 4 years in the Arctic sea until they were awashed on the shores of Hornstrandir. I can‘t wait to return back there one day.
