Currently I’ve been in a bit of a weird space with food and it got me thinking... 🤔
Being a trainer and having always been extremely active, I eat healthy because it makes me feel good and it helps me perform.
The physical side of health is where I shine. It’s never a chore for me - I absolutely love training and how it makes me feel. There’s something about putting in hard work during sessions that makes me tick. And I know I will always feel that way. It comes naturally to me.
When it comes to nutrition - well, thats a different journey.
I enjoy eating healthy foods. I always feel good for nourishing my body the way it deserves and I do eat really well (I also eat A LOT.) However I also really enjoy eating cakes and pizza and lollies and all the things that we probably shouldn’t have all the time.
I’m a real “everything in moderation” type of gal but if I had a nutrition goal, I could stick to it. Lately however I can’t seem to make it through the day without veering off and eating something that’s not “part of the plan.” And then I started thinking, why do I even need a “plan” ?
I’ve never dieted or put massive restrictions on myself, but after having a baby and seeing my body change - I’ve had this little voice telling me I should be stricter. This is new territory for me.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful for how my body has bounced back after Leo. My body has always been in my corner and worked for me. But it is different to how it used to be. Some days I’m totally feeling myself, other days not so much which I know happens to all of us.
There is pressure everywhere we turn. But that is why we must do something because it makes us feel good. Not because we feel we have to “keep up.”
Every day isn’t perfect. Some days you will eat green vegetables and drink protein shakes after a killer workout and feel like an absolute goddess. Other days you will lie in bed after eating an entire block of chocolate and bag of chippies and accept that you are a total sloth.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, it happens to us all. No one is perfect. Do something because it makes you truely happy. And enjoy & live yo damn life ✨
