Some health updates on our Ari girl. A couple weeks ago we had some routine labs done (common for kiddos with Down syndrome every year) and we had some issues because Aria’s blood was so thick. It raised some red flags but we have definitely gotten into the habit of not thinking something is something until it is actually something. Her results came back awesome with the exception of her red cell blood count (hemoglobin) which was really high. This means she now has to see a hematologist for extra monitoring and will mostly likely be on a blood thinner medication to prevent clotting. It’s not ideal but we are counting our blessings that it is nothing more serious. I have so many mama friends in our Ds community that are in the trenches with their kiddos health right now, so I find myself all day whispering to God about how thankful I am. My eyes have been open to a whole world of children with medical complexities which causes me to constantly evaluate what matters. Thank you God for your protection, Aria is in your hands and we know you got her 🖤
Selama ini, entah secara langsung atau gak langsung,
sadar atau gak sadar,
kita seringkali dituntut untuk selalu ’tumbuh’.
Keluar dari zona nyaman.
Do those leap of faiths.
Involve with things bigger than ourselves.
2020 bersisa beberapa bulan lagi,
gw akan tetap memilih bertumbuh,
just because the sense of growing makes me alive.
Hey kamu, selamat ya udah berhasil deal B walau gak seberapa.
“Grow, but don’t be too hard on yourself,” ujar seorang teman.

Hi everyone! 👋🏻 we have several new followers over the last week so we thought we’d talk a bit more about ourselves; starting with our kids.
Mila is four years old. The girl is brilliant and sensitive (and headstrong🙈). Her love language is acts of service so she tends to be the first to jump at any opportunity to pitch in at home or any community service. ❤️She is obsessed with all things Elsa but she wants us to make sure we also say she loves all the characters.
Lily is three. She is loving and hysterical. ☺️Always giddy and adventurous. She looks up to her big sister and can usually be found singing a self written song about whatever she is doing at the time- this evening’s song was about chocolate milk in the shower. 😂 she also tends to lose her hearing when she is asked to help with a chore.
Can anyone relate to how as parents we think we are raising our first born to be a specific way and shaping their personality, then number two comes and they turn out to be so different from the first? You quickly realize their personality is their own and your job is actually to just love them individually and train them up to use their strengths for the greater good? 🙌🏻❤️

Always in pursuit of a great adventure! With @jcarvaja17 - Winner Best of the Week 27 at #nomadict - This contest is supported by @monochrome_hub / "As a filmmaker and photographer who loves hiking, I always find myself visiting waterfalls, volcanos, and lakes, finding new places and exploring new directions. After four years of constant adventures inside of Costa Rica, there are still tons of places that I do not know. If you like landscape photography and true adventures, this is the place to be.
My favorite spots here in Costa Rica got to be the different active volcanoes we have (Turrialba Volcano, Poas Volcano, Arenal Volcano). Having to hike around 3-4 hours in the middle of the night to get right before sunset to the edge of an active crater is one of the most thrilling experiences you could ever have. It is not an easy hike, but once you are there, there are no bad photos. However, preparation is very important. Something I recommend doing always.
So far I've done four Volcano hikes this year and all of them have been successful. One of them was the ascent to Acatenango, Guatemala. From there you can see Fuego, an active volcano with an altitude of 3,763m. I can tell you, there is no other place like that. Hiking to the top of an inactive volcano to watch the neighboring volcano (Fuego) erupt all night long is amazing. I can even say that it is the most powerful and beautiful thing I've ever seen - see pic. 1.
The day of the winning shot is another example of such a great adventure that I will never forget (see pic.6). Iceland had been in my head for several years. I remember seeing Icelandic landscapes in “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.” When I watched that Movie I decided to visit Iceland, so you can imagine how I felt when I was finally going there. I started doing my usual research and I found this volcanic waterfall, Hengifoss. It seemed something else - I had never seen a waterfall like that, with walls colored by what once was Lava. Amazing." Congratulations @jcarvaja17! 🎆 Now you have access to the final prize, the opportunity to exhibit your work thanks to @monochrome_hub and become the cover page of our first printed magazine!
