The Corryvreckan is a JD Wetherspoon pub on the waterfront wharf of Oban where we stopped for lunch and city exploring along our tour today. It's named after the Corryvreckan whirlpool between the islands of Jura and Scarba. According to tradition, the whirlpool is named after the Norse King Breachan who had to prove his bravery to marry a princess of the isles. JD Wetherspoon pubs have an online app you download from your phone from your table where you place all of your orders - food and drink - and they show up at your table very quickly after. Literally within minutes we received our orders you see here at our window side table with a view. Quick, efficient, and amazing to find a variety of vegan options at a wharf pub like this. They had vegan burgers and curry as you see here, pizza (unfortunately they were out of), pasta and more including a full vegan breakfast option too. Awesome! I also loved the owl and hedgehog Christmas tree by our table 😍🦉🦔🎄 so cute!
