Behind every shot I take there's not only me, but also the Guide that drives me around. He gotta understand what I do, what I look for, what I'm imagining, what the animal might do.
On this trip it was @jamesshidai and James, you have done a fabulous Job 🙌 the time shared together has been absolutely precious, saying goodbye was hard, I look forward to meet you again in the Mara!

A beautiful cub lazes around, carefully watching it’s mother intently and learning with each and every new move 🧸🐾 #brownbear#cub The boldest and most inquisitive of 3 small yearling bear cubs paused to smell the air in Finland, photographed in September. We were incredibly lucky to follow a family of 4 bear cubs throughout the entire year. After first seeing the mother with her 3 cubs last September, we were elated when the emerged in May this year. We witnessed drama, incredible behaviour and the loveliest views of the family.. Soon we will be releasing a blog on our website, documenting the families year from beginning to end, so be sure to keep an eye out! If you love bears as much as we do, make sure you follow @bearphotoltd for DAILY bear photos! 🐻
Please, please, please...
Visit the website RememberingWildlife.com, a charitable initiative. It’s the link in my profile now as well.
The collective work of these heroic wildlife photographers simultaneously makes my heart explode with awe and pride at the efforts of some people to raise awareness...
...and yet it’s mixed with a sense of needing to run to the restroom and projectile vomit. I get so upset about what is happening to these species, and so many not represented in these books, like the giraffe!
Honestly, WHAT HAVE WE DONE? 🤯
In upcoming posts, I want to honor the incredible work of these wildlife photographers and how they’re highlighting the plight of some species that we may soon loose without drastic measures.
If you can afford to buy one or all of their charity book series you’ll be my hero. Help me not be sick. 🤢🤮
The book series includes:
* Remembering Lions
* Remembering Great Apes
* Remembering Rhinos
* Remembering Elephants
(This photo from the Maasai Mara, two years ago. I just discovered it recently... so many of my own photos that I’ve not really seen 😕... doesn’t the sky look like a Money painting? No filter or photoshop).

Simba playing « A king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here, and will rise with you as the new king. »
This cub was sleeping with his dad, when he suddenly woke up and jumped towards us! And I pressed the shutter release accidentally 😅 We’ve only seen the shot later. We were just 😍
Photo by @mogenstrolle Many are attracted to the drama in nature. I look for the calm. The situations where animals are relaxed, are just being themselves. That is, to me, when they open up and give you glimpses into their soul. I love observing how the expressions of primates change as they shift between observing and reacting to the behavior of other troop members and just becoming introvert and spacing out. It’s like ripples running over their face. You can, of course, only guess what goes on behind the eyes but sometimes animals look so serene. Like this young male proboscis monkey that would repeatedly lean his head back slightly and close his eyes with what looks like a mild smile on his face.
