I finally LOVE my dining room thanks to my new blue chairs!💙💙💙 I had bought this vintage teak table years ago for a song because it didn’t have any chairs. I collected some mis-matched ones soon after with the intention of painting them all to match. It finally happened and I am oh so pleased with the result! (Actually, I have one cushioned chair still in the garage but I digress.) I decided on a blue that is slightly brighter than navy. I later realized that this is #ClassicBlue the @pantone colour of the year. Fantastic! I’ll surf that colour trend!
Painting these chairs was a great way for me to experiment with technique. What happens when I use different brushes, different rollers, sand in between coats, sand at the end, different grits of sand paper, dry sanding, wet sanding?... I learned a lot! 😅 I also got super excited to find wood glue that comes with a fine syringe to get it into those tiny crevices.
Next I’m going to use a high gloss poly on at least one of these, just to see how it looks. 🤔
It’s funny how exciting it is to learn a new skill! 🎨 🧐 🔨
I’ve put some before & afters in my story.

“Content precedes design. Design in the absence of content is not design, it’s decoration.” – Jeffrey Zeldman
Hello Monday! Looking forward to what’s ahead this week. You’ll find me at @wfshome where I’ll be working on some lovely projects for some lovely clients:: Linen Roman shades, area rugs, cottage window treatments , reupholstery, custom toss cushions, and the list goes on. 💜 .
The Blue Room... your home can be any colour, or style and we will help it show it’s best and highlight its space and features for buyers to love. This home staged and sold after just a couple days on the market #stagedandsold#elevateyourspace#elevatestagingwpg .
A little reminiscing about one of our favourite projects from the past. Falcon Lake Golf Club trusted us to install a beautiful 74” double sided gas fireplace for them. Natural gas wasn’t available at their location so we converted it into a propane system. Here’s to another great golf and fireplace season!

Stone: West Coast Ledgestone
Following my 29th.. Extremely long post. I wrote this a few weeks ago and kept adding to it- and instagram doesn’t allow the full thing, so I’ll post the rest another time. Some unsolicited thoughts of things I’ve learned/experienced over my 20’s. It’s fairly disorganized, I don’t post things like this as much as I once did. But it’s unapologetic.
1. Don’t “wake and facebook.” When we’re instantly bombarded with bad news and people arguing on the internet, it can put you in a mood and state of mind that can waste or subconsciously direct an entire day.
2. Be friends with people you can respectfully disagree with. Believe it or not, it can be done. And it allows you to see so many different perspectives and have a broader respect and appreciation for the different backgrounds that people come from.
3. Check your ego. The people you respect will pick up on it instantly. It doesn’t look “strong” it looks insecure. Lose the superiority complex. You may have been afforded several luxuries over the next person, and this attitude is not attractive or magnetizing. It’s a repellant. You are not always correct, and being able to see someone else’s perspective or put yourself in their shoes is a strength. Maturity required.
4. Set high goals, but be careful of what your expectations are. Those are very different things. Goals are fantastic to set- Expectations if not perfectly met, will set you up for disappointment and possibly lack of motivation to try again. Aim high, work your ass off, land somewhere in between, and be grateful that your target wasn’t low. .

If you’re hosting a holiday dinner and want to make your table look cute but have no idea where to start clap your hands! 👏🏻
While you’re clapping, head on over to my stories where I’m sharing how I create a pretty tablescape (for any season) that will wow all your guests.
Finally, if you really want to follow in my footsteps make sure to set your table approximately 10-15 business days before the scheduled dinner party. Don’t let anyone in your family sit at the table, touch it, or even BREATHE on it until the big day. It’s a work of art after all and the reason why I eat 50% of my dinners on the couch. 😂
Everything from those stair treads down to the placement of those two book ends have me swooning. 🖤 I just love this vignette from SM! .
Did you read @studiomcgee latest blog post? It’s such a feel good read, and really had me thinking about my own home. I have a lot to say and I think I’ll just have to make a blog post myself to share those thoughts. Then I can do my share leaving my lovely friends with something feel good to read too! But until then, don’t forget to check out theirs 😉🤍
