Headed to Belgium this weekend! 🇧🇪 the last time I went to Belgium, I ended up traveling to Amsterdam and woke up hungover on an old WWII house boat 😂 this trip should be a bit more sophisticated. But, ya never know. Excited to explore the city of Ghent 🛶 Have you been?!
My FAVORITE travel sneaks are on sale & under $32! They’re normally $65. I literally can go an entire trip wearing just these shoes because they’re SO comfy, they slip on and off in airports and go with any outfit 💛 || linked in the @liketoknow.it app! ⚠️The BIGGEST mistake you’re making in balancing your hormones⚠️ You’re trying to ease PMS, monthly breakouts, cramps, digestive issues that come with fatigue, irritability, stubborn weight gain, feeling like a zombie or having a difficult time getting pregnant.
You’re trying EVERYTHING... every adaptogenic latte out there. Getting lost in a sea of information all saying different things. Taking all the potions you heard bring your body back to balance.
But you are still dealing with the same missing or irregular cycles, waking up with soaked clothes at night, cystic breakouts before your cycle and a mood that’s off the charts.🤷🏼♀️
I get it. It can seem daunting and overwhelming but you are doing things backwards...
Instead of trying to regulate your sex hormones first you want to get to the root cause of the imbalance and then supplement and support your sex hormones.
There’s something called the endocrine cascade and it works like this:
Blood sugar imbalance ➡️ adrenals ➡️ pituitary ➡️ thyroid ➡️ sex hormones
At the root of this imbalance is a blood sugar roller coaster. It puts stress on your adrenals, which puts stress on your thyroid, which in turn puts stress on your sex hormones.
You can’t expect an adaptogenic latte to fix your hormones imbalances when you’re focused on the LAST piece of the puzzle. We need to treat the root cause and in turn corrects the branch symptom.
The first step is getting serious about your digestion and blood sugar control.
Feel like you need some direction on support on your path? DM and let’s chat about the proper path for you body 🙋

Everyone kept telling me: “Madalena how come you travel so much and you haven’t been to the Azores? (especially given the fact that I’m Portuguese) You will love it!”
And you know what? They were right! And even though it took me some time, it was the right time :)
Now I’m happy to be one of the people promoting and sharing this hidden treasure of the Atlantic!
You can find a ‘3-day itinerary in São Miguel’ in my blog, as well as a post with ‘things to know when traveling to’ this beautiful eden. Check in bio :)
The Azores definitely shows some of the great gifts we can get from Mother Nature! 🌿
Tula Toddler (reversible/non-destructive) modifications
Sunshine is strong & adventurous, but he's two years old so still needs (and likes!) being carried on hikes. .
He's grown so tall that the end of hood wasn't even reaching the back of his head, which wasn't helpful for the nap time that often arises on hikes. His back was also unsupported so I found that he was leaning way back away from me. This made me both nervous for his safety and physically uncomfortable as a result of the shifting weight. .
To keep the integrity of the Tula for the future, I used non-destructive changes to extend the back panel to reach up his back and for the hood to sit on his head.
I used this gorgeous curtain fabric from my stash and made a rectangular middle panel with side loops, sewed it to the top of the back panel and sewed each loop to itself after securing around the black strapping fabric on each arm strap (i.e. not around the padded strap). I then sewed the hood to the back panel extension.
I modified the Tula in September and it works perfectly. Now, Sunshine is secured when relaxing & resting and the carrier is again comfy to wear. #tula#outdoorfamilies#tbt
Simplicity at its best 👌 I wouldn't even know where to start if you ask me about my week or month even. It has been crazy! I think November will be about taking things slowly. Well, fingers crossed! Hopefully by then the storm in my life calms down. How are you doing?

Good morning world ✈️ From above 💛 On my way back to the Motherland 🇳🇿
Photo without captions is like a book without a title. You may have got the right photo but expressing your feelings behind it plays a major role in your overall interaction with the photo.
People look for the photo and then read the caption to understand the context behind it... every time when i am taking pictures I am not trying to give an image of a fairy-tale, perfect, everything else, I am just being myself. And on this picture I'm just glad that I once again had the opportunity to see my friends and to see this beautiful city again . I am always trying to save those moments on the pictures Which was important to me, and I want to keep this in my memory....

God’s purpose is always for somebody else ✨
I read that today + for some reason, that simple statement felt profound. We’re a culture that’s so obsessed with purpose. With *our* calling, *our* gifts, *our* talents, *our* goals, *our* dreams. And while those things are so important, we often forget that it’s not solely about those things, + those things aren’t actually solely for us. They were given to us... to be given to somebody else.
Purpose is so much more than a popularized buzzword in 2019. Less about what we do + more about how we do anything we do. How we present God’s grace + love to other people, whether overtly or subtly. Everyone I know who has shown me that type of love or really touched me has done so very ordinarily, without their titles, talents, callings or images in play.
Maybe purpose is much bigger than each of us + is carried out in much smaller, quieter ways than we think it is: in our kindness, in our example, in our humbling + correction, in our changing directions, in our service. In the places the world doesn’t see on display, but that maybe one person sees; that God definitely sees ✨

One of the reasons we decided to come on this adventure was to see the Autumn colours and Malmö certainly delivered just that 🍂
Yesterday, I emptied the last of New Mexico's white sands from my shoes near the base of Arizona's Four Peaks.

Diyarbakır'da sadece iki saat serbest zamanınız var denilince; Gruptan ayrıldım tek başıma gezmeye başladım. Buarada Diyarbakır için doğunun Paris i diyorlar.
Ulu camisi, Oymalı füme antrasit rengindeki mimarisi, On Gözlü köprüsü, Diclesi, Cahit Sıtkı Tarancısı, Sur içi, Suzan Suzisi, alıç meyvesi ile unutamam seni Diyar Bekir 🍀
Who else loves to collect stamps? I certainly do and, I kid you not, I got my second wind when I saw this sign just before the final ascent. I had to pay for it but if you’re a collector like I am, a couple of Peruvian soles (less than 50 cents) is a total bargain. The man who handled my passport asked me if I had already visited Machu Picchu and I said I hadn’t yet. He smiled and said, “this page will be for both of your stamps from Vinicunca and Machu Picchu.”💕🏔
This week has been so busy for me, I appreciate all your lovely comments on my last post & I’m doing my best to catch up! Luna & are are on our way to Wyoming right now & I’m excited to share our weekend with you☺️ #savannahsomewherewithluna
The crux of the traverse between Crestone Peak 14,294ft. (41) & Crestone Needle 14,197ft. (42). This was Nick’s final grand traverse and my first — I’m so thankful for him and the handful of others who have taken me under their wing in this venture, shown me patience and taught me how to conduct myself with skill and confidence in these mountains. (Oh, and take my photo when we’re both, literally, dangling off the side of one of them). 📸: @tarpleynick. || “You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.” — René Daumal
